You are just stating a personal opinion which I can respect. What I can't respect is comments such as "Movies are supposed to be in 24fps" or "60fps just ruins cinema"

Well, you are not going to like my next sentence lol.

I actually hated the HFR. It ruined the movie for me. Sorry but that is my stance.

You could replace 24 fps with a political view point, and 60 fps with an opposing viewpoint, and this thread would read like the comments section on any news article.

I, for one, have no issues with either 24 or 60, bring em all on.

One could replace the other though. It not a 'Everyone's a winner' scenario.

If HFR became widely used, people would accept it, because most like being told what to do and what to think.
The argument is based solely on what frame rate we all grew up with and what we have gotten used to perceive as 'normal' or 'acceptable'.
Let's not forget that before 24fps was the standard other frame rates were utilized in film making

I found a very good channel simply called 60fps containing lots of movie trailers in 60fos and some even in 4K. Wow for the first time I can actually keep motion interpolation off on my tv and get smooth flawless motion😊

Have you always used the motion processing on your TV? I would imagine that prevents you from getting used to 24fps. I've been watching movies so long I don't even notice motion issues. You just get used to it and soon enough that's just what movies look like. Also, while I am sure you'll hate this, I would say movies should be seen as intended, which means 24fps and no motion processing for 99.9% of them.

Was Billy Lynn intended to be watched at 24fps or 60fps?

120 fps (and 3D), but Lee has said 60 still gives a good idea of what he is going for.

Is the 3D in 24 or 60? I assume 24. If that's so, all those who are buying the 3D are not watching the movie the way it was intended according to you.

The 3D is 24 on the disc. But, as I said, no home version (and only a limited number of theaters, Lee was somewhat disappointed how few theaters could fully play his vision, though actually he kinda liked the idea of giving audiences something they couldn't get at home) can play the film as truly intended, it's just about those versions giving a better idea of what Lee was going for than the standard 2D, 24 format.

So the 3D is not as truly intended. Yet you are on my case for using motion interpolation? Ok😉

Took the Gamble on this, since it's supposedly the best 4K disc to date. While it does have the digital 60fps 'live broadcast' feel to it... there is still a filmic process over it, which makes it look like a movie and not like a soap opera. It's pretty cool looking. As far as the movie itself, it's just ok (not particularly interesting). As for the 4K being a technical marvel... It's not mind-blowing. If your on the fence like I was, you're not missing anything. I'd say pass. Although, this is coming from the guy who said Trolls is amazing and Arrival is Anti-Climactic.

Here's hoping the 3D version changes my mind.

Shooting in 4K 120 fps & 3D will still give you big benefits when you sample it down to all the different framerates. Lee still prepared tons of versions to make sure the experience would be optimal for every single one of them, that includes different color timings, etc.
