Is the franchise dead now due to the disappointing reviews for Leprechaun Origins?

Doubtful. When was the last time a Leprechaun film had a good review. If anything, hopefully the lousy reboot will encourage Lionsgate to go back to something closer to the original formula.

You have to wonder what they were thinking. Why not get the guy from Game of Thrones? Can you imagine how awesome he would be as the Leprechaun?

Warwick still wants to do more so they don't even need to pick anyone new.

That remake was beyond awful.

I still haven't watched Origins because of all the terrible things I hear. I was so excited when I first heard they were doing another one too

I hope they will make more with Warwick's Leprechaun, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Where did he state this? I read somewhere that he did not want to do the Leprechaun movies anymore but that was years ago

He's been wanting to do Lep in the Wild West for a while now. Read about it in an article somewhere.

That sounds amazing. (Well as amazing as any of the Leprechaun films I suppose) I'd pick it up for sure.

Here's an article I found from a couple of years ago:

http://www.joblo.com/horror-movies/n...or-vamprichaun

I hope there is a new Warwick Davis Leprechaun soon though

Definitely. I'd take that any day over the remake.

Ah, yes. This is the other idea that they were tossing around. I hope they do some new Warwick ones too.

Blind bought this months ago just for the price. I watched pt 1 today. I find it interesting no one in here mentioned (not that the search engine found) the English subtitles don't work via menu. When I choose English subtitles, it changes to Spanish, like the disc author or mistakenly out an override on that option or whatever. Of course you can cycle through the languages with the subtitle button in remote. But via menu I could not get English to work pop up, or main menu.

Other than that, I had fun. Never was much a fan of Anniston, and I didn't even know she was in this (since I'm not a fan) but she did really good. And she looked smoking hot here. I think it was the la gears lol good stuff. Great effects, and red shirt pictures never ever disappoints.

Speaking of Leprechaun, Lionsgate has repackaged the series on dvd, retaining the cover art of the bluray collection and re-titling it "Leprechaun 7-Film Collection".

I stumbled across it in Walmart for $10 and bought it out of curiosity. For those wondering about the contents, it's basically the two discs from the 4 Film Collection (which included the first two films paired on an old "Red Carpet Double Feature" disc) and the original discs of Lep 5, 6, and 7.

I mention this solely for those of us who understand you can never own too many copies or variations of Leprechaun.

I know it's an old post, but for all those who responded with you kind of missed the ironical point of TripleHBK. TripleHBK was saying that if the only way to get older movies released on Blu-ray is when a remake is done, then these movies need to be remake ASAP. Which make lots of sense!

So I decided that this was the week that I was going to watch every film in the series. Previously I had only ever watched 1-3, but with this marathon I was going all the way. I am currently finishing up Back 2 tha hood and in a surprise I never saw coming, I've found the 2 hood films to be FAAAAAAAR better, more enjoyable films than the abomination "in space" was. How Jason X and Hellraiser Bloodline get grouped with the abortion that is Leprechaun in space is unfathomable to me, as both Jason X, and Bloodlines are far FAR better films.

With all of that said I really can't commend Lionsgate enough for how great this set is/was. So now that I've had the chance to watch almost all of the entries here are my rankings...

1) Leprechaun 2
2) Leprechaun 3
3) Leprechaun
4) Leprechaun Back 2 tha Hood
5) Leprechaun In the Hood
6) Origins (That's right, I haven't even watched it yet but still consider it a better film despite all the hate as I can't imagine it being remotely close to as bad as In space was.)
7) Leprechaun In Space

I hope they bring this sucker back out this Halloween since I missed it last time around...preferably for a slightly lower price too.

Unless you really want to purchase it in person, it's available new for $24.99 on amazon and $21 on ebay right now. Well worth it at both prices.

Oh it really is that bad. Once you watch it you'll probably put it on the bottom. In Space isn't great but has some fun moments so while it's near the bottom of the list for me too Origins still ranks rock bottom. I couldn't even watch the whole thing it was that bad.

Origins has got to be the worst remake of all time. It has absolutely nothing to do with the franchise. I can't believe how pure trash that movie was....
