just type LOTR in the search box at the top. It'll take you to the amazon page where they have list price, specs and such. I believe it's 7.1 DTS-MA with 2.39:1 aspect ratio.

What are you blabbering about?

Some good information in this thread...definitely makes a new member feel welcome

NoMe...LOTR was "announced" for release in November for the theatricals only, but the set has been delayed until next year (likely until March). There have been several discussion abouts this already, and as others have noted it's always good to do a quick search, as you'll probably discover many of your questions about big titles are likely being discussed already (for instance, this is the mega thread for LOTR on Bluray: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=65914). Just an fyi, the Extended editions are probably going to be released a year after the theatricals.

My bad I wasn't directing my post at anyone specifically...just seems whenever there is a new Star Wars/LOTR etc post from a new member it is automatically filled with sarcastic responses Yes they should search, but everyone was new once and people make mistakes

you Riff

Right on bro. I just thought it was funny that several of the posters being sarcastic, obviously hadn't read the fellas post. I tried to be a smartass, and then quickly follow it up with a helpful response.

Take it with a grain of salt. Wait for an official announcement from New Line.

I think they were released in the winter, like December-ish. Could be wrong though. Edit: yeah, December

Man I'm still bummed they moved them back. This would've been the perfect set of movies to watch during the winter. Oh well, if they're awesome quality, I have no complaints!

Yea december in theaters. Then like that next October on DVD. I remember being at walmart at 12 AM on the release date of The Two Towers just by chance and there were like 20 people waiting for the guy to roll out the kiosk with the movies lol. Doubt it will be like that when the BD comes out.

Mods, my bad for posting that multiple times. I was on my iPhone the first two and thought my post wasn't appearing because my phone was messing it up. Just tried from my computer and got the message it had to be approved first.

Ok since all this back and forth about the release date for LOTR is getting a bit ridiculous, I e-mailed Warner Bros. specifically asking if it was coming 11/3/09 or in 2010. Below is my e-mail and the response I got.

Description: Hi, I was wondering if I could get a confirmation of the release date you have listed on your site for the Blu-Ray edition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The date listed is 11/3/09 but recent news and other websites have it listed as March 2010. I'd like to know what the correct date is so I know where to pre-order it from. I'd appreciate any help you can give

Thanks,
Matt

I'd say that's a pretty solid confirmation of the original November release date
