No kidding.... don't trust this phony..... he doesn't even believe what the reviewers are saying
[Show spoiler] and here I thought a 3/5 for picture quality implied negative characteristics existed

Remember, a review is just ONE PERSON'S opinion.
Wait.... so you don't believe what reviewers say either...... Oh man..... life is so confusing these days.........

DNR "motion blur" you name it..... All I know is those screen caps have significant DNR........ if I was picking up a hint of EE from a screen cap, I might assume it wasn't noticeable during motion, but there is enough DNR applied here that it's pretty obviously it's going to be just as blatant when in motion.....

I thought the consensus of the reviews were negative (look at PQ here people, don't start saying "Oh it got a 4 overall" because nobody is questioning the AQ or the gushing love affair of the movie itself)

I don't know why people are using the "it's just one bad review" argument..... Does someone want to post a combined list of reviews available?

Dude, check this out........

http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...ay-review.html

I will trust real evidence over the so called "real reviewers" any day

Dave has backed up his review with a shit load of evidence and the 2 coincide.

Bills final review score does not coincide with what he actually said IMO. The digitialbits review is political to say the least.

Just my opinion though and we can agree to disagree I am just glad there are reviewers out there who have the balls to call it like it is and dont let the fact that their reviewing privileges may be in jeopardy sway what they say OR the final review score. Bravo Dave.

yes: do you know what display he's using? is it the same display you're using? is it calibrated to display a reference picture, and is yours? how far is he sitting from his display and how far are you seated? what are his expectations for the trilogy PQ vs yours? what is his standard for a great picture and what is yours?

(but judging by your vigorous defense of these discs, sounds like you'll be happy whatever they look like, which makes me wonder why you even need reviews)

Where does it say this is reference quality anywhere? I think people WANT these to look better than they do. At least the sound is getting good reviews but I am a bit surprised how scant the details are. Can't wait for the review from this site

So are you calling Bill Hunt a sell out? Dude you need to get over yourself. Why would Bill ruin his rep like that. Your logic just shows me the only thing you want to do is argue. This Dave guy is just some part time hack that thinks he's a reviewer.

This site is one of, if not the most political out there. They will certainly make mention of the PQ issues, but they will also down play the hell out of it either through the final score, the PQ review or both They wont score it perfect, but it will still score higher then it deserves.

He's actually a pretty respected reviewer. He gets sent advance review copies, although he doesn't know how this review will affect that.

Although I guess it's just easier to endlessly quote people you agree with and label everyone else a "hack."

thats what your doing. The problem I have is that you what everyone to agree with you, well thats not going to happen, get over yourself. I will go by what the MAJOR reviewers say and by my eyes, not some part time hack reviewer.

I couldn't care less if you don't agree with me, I just want you to get a bit of logic through that head of yours.
What exactly makes for a "professional" reviewer?

Get over myself? For what, having an opinion? For expressing how I perceive things? If you cant handle the conversation, I suggest staying out of it.

You form whatever conclusions you want from what I have said.........I stand by every word.

If my only goal was to argue, I would not agree with anyone on here, but that is far from the case as their are plenty of people on here who are in the same boat with me. So your logic about what you perceive as my logic is flat out faulty.

Where the hell have you been? Dave is one of the best reviewers out there and he brings a perspective that falls MUCH closer in line to the hard core enthusiast than 90+% of the so called "real reviewers" IMO. Not saying Bill is a bad reviewer, but dont fool yourself to think there are not politics involved with MOST of the so called real reviewers.

ok so movies are great, sound is great, supps are great and the PQ is great with the exception of one which is atleast better than the DVD. i can see why there getting a 4/5 and whatnot because as a whole it's not that bad. unfortunately they dropped the ball on the best movie out of the pack, but if all else is well with the set which it appears to be then i will be buying.

So in the review at this website it says the audio is in fact DTS-HD MA 6.1 but most of the other reviews say its a DTS-HD 5.1 matrixed track, which is it? If I have a 7.1 setup will my reciever use all 8-channels or will I only have sound coming out of one of my left OR right rear channels?

Very good, unbiased review by the way.

I never saw the extended editions of any of the movies. Are they worth waiting for or should I get this boxset and do they add a lot to the movies?
