Since you're already convinced this release will be the worst ever only from watching a couple of screenshots, why do you keep throwing them around? It's annoying everybody else, especially since it has been established that screenshots have been wrong before.

I am not an industry professional. But we already know you are unwilling to discuss this with a professional who would be willing to explain in detail and support his claims with actual facts.

You claimed that you read Pentond thread in TWO minutes. Odd, as it has neraly 13,000 posts.

And, you failed to ask him any questions....like the ones you are asking me.

Ask a pro .... are you afraid of being proven wrong?

Please give me an example of them being wrong before? You don't know what you are talking about.

There has never been a screen cap before that has shown DNR but which magically disappears when you watch the actual disc. I'd bet any amount of money.

True.

Look at The Mask of Zoro. When we see Anthony Hopkins every pore can be seen in tremendous detail, but when the camera is on Catherine Zeta-Jones, she looks like a porcelain doll. Filters, not DNR.

Haha OK I will. But why do I need these "pros" to tell me? Like do they look at every screen cap of a movie then compare it to the real movie?

That's preposterous. Screenshots can capture motion blur, which could give the illusion of DNR when in fact there is none. Things often look much better in motion.

He's not willing to ask a pro, he doesn't want to be proven wrong. But Bill Hunt is a sell out to the Studio's because the studio's are pressuring him. Haven't you people noticed that Mike and the rest of them are right and everyone else in wrong, even the reviewers?

Not trying to single anyone out here but to keep arguing with someone who's too stubborn to see your point of view or what you're trying to say is repetitive and pointless. I'm going to stop reading some people's posts in here, that's what it's come to unfortunately. Grand Bob and radagast, is there a list of books I should read besides LoTR, Hobbit, Silmarillion and Forgotten Tales?

Read the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" in preparation for the upcoming HBO series

The thing about individual reviews is you can't really trust them implicitly either. If you comb through all of the reviews on this site you'll inevitably find tons you disagree with. Let's not forget that plenty of reviewers across the internet give rave reviews to terrible transfers like Gladiator and Patton as well.

Remember, a review is just ONE PERSON'S opinion.

How come you don't see this motion blur being mistaken for DNR effect in screen caps from transfers that are considered reference (Braveheart for example)?

Uh because when you look at the screencaps from from Braveheart you can see all the fine detail, which tells you there's no motion blur OR dnr being displayed. I'm not really sure what you're trying to prove here

No. But they can explain the potential flaws behind trusting an indiviual screen grab better than I can. A screen grab isnt ALWAYS what it appears to be. Also, if you hear it from them, it has more credibility than if I say it.

Again, I am not saying that LOTR 1, 2 or 3 looks good, I am simply arguing that screen grabs as a 100% accurate way to judge a film is a flawed science. On a technical level.

So you mean of every screen cap taken there was not one with a bit of motion blur? I'm talking about all reference transfers as well.

I remember all the fuss over Gladiator - I rented it and I saw why people complained. That said - was it terrible? No. It was probably better than the DVD (have not seen the DVD). Was Braveheart 100x better - yes. BR was awesome.

But Gladiator was certainly watchable - just not a 4.5 or 5. I'd say it was probably a 3.5 (in my opinion). Though I have a 42inch screen - so maybe on a 108incher it's unwatchable?

OK but I feel that people are using that as a way to say that all the screen caps of LOTR are wrong which there's no way they can be to such an extent.

We are really just going beyond the scope of this thread. The claims are that eric.exe and the other couple people who have posted screen caps are in cahoots to try and make the TE look bad because they want the EE. I find when people go to the conspiracy theories to argue their points they are getting desperate.
