I am up to roughly 70 times a piece. Pretty much once a month viewing at my home now.

Yeah, it's routine. I can feel something missing when I've gone too long without a viewing of LotR.

Saw them all a few times each in theaters, afterwards the TE DVD was on the TV pretty much most of the time for atleast a month after its release. Now we watch the EE's when a relative visits and follow it with a game of Lord of the Rings trivia.

Yeah, I saw each one 5 times in the theater, then many viewings when the TE came out, some more when the EE came out, repeat for a while.

Now my 2 1/2 year old watches them once a month.

I have seen FOTR (or listened to it in the background when doing other stuff like cleaning etc) around 50 times easily. Used to go on every Sunday morning when I was doing my Fantasy Football duties.

I dont care as far as how they are released- i'll buy them on Blu-Ray as theatrical, EE, then in some super boxset with the Hobbit movies.

Honestly, I never watch the theatricals anymore, although the only one that I think adds the most seamless extra footage is FOTR. TTT has some nice stuff at the end with the Ents showing up at Helms Deep, but the other stuff is boring. ROTK I just dont like any of it- seems out of place (like the witch king confrontation with gandalf).

HOBBIT- My concern- I still am not clear about what they are doing with 2movies. First I heard it was the book split in half to make 2, 2 and half hour films. Rumor was they would stop after the capture by the Goblin King.

Then, I heard that it would all be in one 3 hr movie, and the 2nd movie would be a gap filler to cover events that happened between Hobbit and LOTR.
This I think is a real bad idea- fleshing out and interpreting and using appendices to make another film that was summarized enough in the FOTR prologue and referenced through dialog and flashbacks in all 3 movies. Only hardcore fans will want to delve that deep, especially if Hobbit Part One has closure with the death of Smaug and the battle that ensues.

Anyway, I am not worried about the feel- alot of sets and costumes have been kept and will be re-used. PJ as producer will give Del Toro, who already has a great vision and creative mind, free reign, with a 'big brother' sort of watchful eye.

Seriously, I'm no psychologist but everything has long-term effects on a child at that age.

Forgive my double-post, but I didn't hear any of that beyond the 2-movie split. My guess is that you just heard some rumors, but if you could post you sources, I'd appreciate that.

Kind of an odd movie to watch at that age, but that's okay. When I was around 3-4, I was obsessed with Dances With Wolves, oftentimes watching it over and over and over all day.

Yeah, until I was about 11 or 12, I didn't watch any Pg-13 or R movies except Mrs. Doubtfire, and one time my sister tricked me into watching Mars Attacks. I just wasn't interested in the rest of them.

I wouldn't mind having two discs for the EE's if it means uncompressed HD audio and the best PQ possible.

I'm going to say LOTR Trilogy is my most favorite movie of all time. I just wish George Lucas would stop being a douche and release the Star Wars series on blu ray.

One of the few collection of films which will be bought on release. Stunning achievements even if they missed some stuff out from the books.....

As far as the Hobbit is concerned:

Filming won't start until 2010.

Hobbit part I will come out in 2011.

Hobbit part II will come out in 2012.

GDT said that hopefully pretty soon they will reveal their choices for Bilbo. I am still hoping James McAvoy will accept the part.
