Some of it wasn't his fault. Even Marlo Brando could only fall down so many times before it became obnoxious.

Sean Bean is a local hero of ours. He's done some seasonal programming at the arthouse cinema I programme for, and is the nicest guy.

Viggo's voice is also different sounding during parts of his speech to the troops in front of the Black Gate.

He sounds strange at those parts.

[QUOTE=DaViD Boulet;3120137]Dude,

Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who

Sorry, that comment made me think of that definition and it cracks me up! Back on topic though, I was dumb enough to choose super saver shipping for these, and I probably won't get them for 2 weeks, so I'm incredibly jealous of those of you that have these in hand

Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen are my picks for the best in the trilogy. I also thought Liv Tyler was an unusual choice, but when you see it, it just works!

Or you know the face he makes when he gets stabbed 2 or 3 times...the exact same face...for about what seems like 10 minutes each time

Farimir (spelling?) ftw

Am I the only one who despised Frodo?
No, you're not the only one.
Wood was ghastly, his acting was clumsy and over the top, that fake accent was totally effeminate, he's 20-years too young... I could beat it up forever.

...still my favorite movie of all time.

I believe he was sick a few times during production but kept on working. If I recall he was the one with the most screen time along with Wood & Astin. It seem he was very hard working and took it very seriously.

Say what? Could you imagine Tolkien watching that scene? And that lackluster speech he gave in front of the Black Gate of Mordor was somewhat less than motivational:
"I see the same fear in your eyes that would have taken the heart of me."
Ooookay.

There is quite a few scenes with Wood that make me laugh, look's like he as diarrhea instead of acting

Bale's. Bale's is almost purposefully silly. It's like Viggo can't control his Kermit. When Viggo gets excited and raises his voice his inner Kermit emerges.

I really like the new Batman movies, but parts of them were silly with that put on hardass Bale voice. There was one long segment of him talking to Morgan Freeman as Batman... long after Morgan Freeman knew Bruce Wayne was Batman. The entire time he talked to him in his ridiculous gravel voice, that makes no sense at all. I was hoping Freeman would say "I know who you are you jackass. Why are you talking like that?"

I chase my 7 and 3 year old kids around the house saying "I'm Batman" in Bale's voice over and over. The kids get a kick out of it even though they have no idea what it is from. My wife just gives me that strange look.

I have not seen it. My comment is directed at you statement that it is an "absolute fact" that the EEs are finished. (you cant know this). And you claim as an "absolute fact" that Warner will not re-do them. You are making claims as fact when you have no way of knowing what their position is.

Basic economics? Hello? They may even use the "Freshly remastered" tag as a tool to get people to double dip. Dont chatter abaout economics without first considering "Basic Marketing"

You are claiming to be clairvoyant. I am simply disputing that you have that ability.

Hard working indeed.

That part in TTT where he kicks the orc helmet and screams and falls to his knees, he broke 3 toes on the helmet. The scream he lets out is the real one of pain

I loved both of those parts

The orc one was so lame that it was great

Edit: As a matter of fact, it is now my signature

If I didn't get a strange look from my wife, I'd never get a look at all.

I hate myself for having Moria paused this long as I type on here. LOL. What is wrong with me! Wife and kids leave town for the week, and I become an internet zombie.

There is stuff i'm being told that can't confirm either story. Also, like i had predicted, the opinions on the PQ is all over the place. WHY? Becuase not all the disks are reproduced from the same place or company, aside the fact thay MAYBE they didn't re-master from the original film. If the studio is trying to pass off an upconverted dvd quality disk as a high qulaity blu-ray release then there's a problem here. That's basically the nuts and bolts of this quagmire. In addition, people can't compare the quality of this release (or any other) from one person to another, you have to do the comparison yourselves. Trying to compare your experience to another's is a defeating purpose in itself, too many variables that affect the end result. Some questions people should start to ask is, "is this one of the best transfers in MY collection and what are some of the bit rates (not totally reliable but this is another story) people are getting with LOTR?

Like i keep on harping buyer beware and becarefull from you buy and from whom.

Ian McKellen was awesome as Gandalf! I also liked Sean Bean alot as Boromir alot. Heck I liked Karl Urban alot as Eomer.

Bean was also great in Patriot Games.
