HD Goofnut, if you use a 46" television while viewing, look at the picture where Saruman is talking to Gandalf. If you measure exactly a quarter inch to the left of the pattern thingy on Saruman's robe, you will see that the ten pixels up and down are off-white.

You have to use a 46" television and measure exactly and you'll see what I mean. If you don't see it then you're colorblind, your system is not calibrated properly, and you're a Peter Jackson apologist.

The green tint is blatantly obvious IMO in shots 1, 4 and 5 and looks the same as the other screens that have been posted of these scenes. The only thing these shots prove is that you have the same green tinted disc as the rest of us.

You're kidding, right? All those shots exhibit an obvious, ugly green tint.

Pay money for this? Bahh. They couldn't PAY me to watch something this bad.

I think our would also be good to note that the screenshots "make it look worse" compared to the movie when it is being played. In other words the movie tint is less noticeable when actually watching the movie. Even though there is a tint, the detail is beyond amazing.

The computer program has no reason to mislead you, my friend.

This just further proves how subjective one's perception of color is. That's all.
You still think so now?

...and there are other scenes more blatantly turquoise than others. If I picked screenshots from the moutains with Boromir tempted by the ring, tons of samey green irises and green toned light dusting faces and clothing it would give the potential buyer of what the worst would be like. Lots of scenes in Rivendell and some daylight sequences look fine but when there is shadow it gets marred again.

No one is forcing you to buy it, and stop making it out like the transfer is as bad as let's say Dog Soldiers. You're being overly dramatic.

That's funny...I asked you:

"As I mentioned...regarding forum members who're saying "a green/cyan tint doesn't even exist" >>>
I'm still waiting for the first member to back it up with a screenshot (not a photo)."

With the screenshots you posted you back up that there is a green/cyan tint.

The light in Gandalf's eye just posted is also a pale shade of green.

All of the screenshots you posted have the same blanket green tint that people are complaining about.

Whether you notice it or it bothers you is what the argument is, not whether or not it's there. It's there and there is no doubt about it... if we go by factual evidence that is.

Thanks for the screen shots, but as Todd pointed out, your setup is not calibrated to a common reference (you 20/20 eye sight does not count, as your and mine are different), so those screen shots really does not hold as much weight as they should. However, I'm glad you're among the people who are able to "ignore" the green tint and enjoy the film. Count me among those who are the less fortunate.

Does that clear anything up?

Saying things about the "green version" is not patronizing. It IS a green version. That's not up for debate. The amount the green affects your enjoyment of it is what is up for debate.

Personally, I don't hate my green version... but I know it is a green version.
How isn't it patronizing? If u were really trying to be a responsable member of this website and wanted to help reduce the arguments in this thread, then u wouldn't try to make people who like it feel that they have bought something that u deem to be a POS by putting down their purchase, calling it a green-ray etc. What u should be saying instead is 'I hope u enjoy it, because that should be all that matters to u. I wish I could also enjoy it in the way u do but unfortunately I can't because the green tint is a bit too much of a distraction to my eyes'. All you're doing by making comments like 'green-ray' is throwing logs on the fire and to be honest that makes u no better than some of the other extremists in this thread.

Don't think I'm picking sides because I'm not. I haven't even bought it yet so I currently don't have an opinion on the issue, and won't until I see it with my own eyes. I've just been reading this thread for days now, trying to find out all the info I can, but instead this forum has turned into a circus rather than what it was setup for, and in some of your replies it's my opinion that u are not helping the situation or respecting other peoples opinions as well as u could be.

In post 8684, cover the color picker with your hand. Now look at the avatar compared to the screengrab. The screengrab is much greener.

I seriously hope WB does an exchange on Fellowship. The Two Towers was a breath of fresh air after watching the first film. My issue isn't even so much the green, but the underexposed and excessively dark image. Moria was a nightmare, and my eyes actually felt uncomfortable at times, kind of like when they need to adjust to a 3D movie when I first put the glasses on. It's like I'm wearing sunglasses while watching the film, and I wish I could take them off. I just downloaded the digital copy which uses the old transfer, and the colors and contrast look so much better.

I never denied that there was a green tint. I simply said that it's now nearly as prevalent as some have made it out to be.

I own the whole set and watched the movie. It isn't flat out ugly but the overall experience of the film suffered greatly cause the before color rich fantasy epic is now mostly dark and greenish.

Default I'm even getting audio sync problems in the US release

Anyone else getting audio sync issues with the US release? It is especially pronounced in Return of the King, but I see it in all movies, very slightly.

I have tried various configurations of my Blu-Ray playback software, audio drivers, etc. but keep seeing the same thing. It *is* possible it's a technical issue with my software, but it doesn't happen to this degree with other Blu Ray movies I have.

Also, it seems like the old DVD menus and now Blu-ray menus have a tint when you first put in the disc, but naturally that's intended. I wonder if the error was simply that they accidentally and somehow applied it to the whole film instead of just the menu footage? I know, that theory is pretty far fetched, but man...

I didn't doctor it. I just auto color corrected it. What's your program tell you now?
