You are obsessed with ending the argument. It's not gonna happen.

First time post on this long thread. Just got done watching TFOTR and not sure about the presentation.

Yes the detail and everything else was great, but the atmosphere has changed, and i don't think for the better. The film looks so flat at times. The shire was a bit lifeless. Other parts the colour change was ok because it suited that tone, but most of time the colour and the tone was not as good as my dvd EE.

So overall, great upgrade in many areas, but really wish they left the colour changes alone.

It's like I'm wearing sunglasses while watching the film, and I wish I could take them off. I just downloaded the digital copy which uses the old transfer, and the colors and contrast look so much better.
Again how can there be an exchange program if PJ aprroved this transfer warner will never go against PJ wishes on how he want the movie to look

And again the digital copy is the DVD master

Never liked the EE editions in the first place and this Green tinting does look pretty bad.

How though this fellowship of the Ring EE get better video quality scores than the non EE ? cause it doesn't look better

Why are people getting so defensive over this transfer? Did you transfer it yourself? I simply don't get it.
Did u read the last paragraph of my last post? I said I don't own the set yet, and I currently don't have an opinion about it, so what am I getting defensive about, certainly not the films? What I've got a problem with is your attitude, and some of the things u have said which I think were uncalled for and have not helped to lower the aggression levels in this thread, but rather have encouraged them. U can deny it and act innocent all u want, but if anyone decides to go back over your comments then I'm sure some will agree that u have been a bit patronizing towards members who like it, whether u think so or not.

Hi amoergosum,

So, if I understand you correctly, you were essentially doing your own color correction, trying to achieve something you like better. Am I correct?

I think that approach has a lot of value when it comes to subjective enjoyment ... it's just not what I'm trying to achieve.

Take care,
HeKS

I doubt this is exactly how PJ wanted it to look. It's hard to make out character's faces at times. You can barely see anything that happens in Moria. Never had this problem when I watched The Two Towers...

This one has some obvious regrading in the EE BD so it would be a good indicator if the iTunes version is from the new master or an old one.

Since this apparently got lost in the latest eruption of flames, please can anybody check?

Last time I checked, your name wasn't listed on the directing credits, Peter Jackson's was! You all think if you throw a fit, WB is going to change the films for you, which is ridiculous.

If WB says this is how PJ wanted the films to look, this is how they were supposed to look! Get over it already!

I have watched all three films now on Blu-Ray and they look great! Did not notice a dramatic green presence on FOTR like most of you have sworn by. Sure, it looks green at the beginning, because the Shire is supposed to be green!

Remember, this new print is coming from the ORIGINAL 2K print: its remastered to show the original color and intent of PJ.

Don't you all have families or friends to hang out with instead of bickering about this for almost 500 pages now???

Here's a solution, just watch and enjoy these great films! I have noticed that no one is ever happy with anything on here!

If it wasn't this problem, you would have another issue with something else...

When my print shows white, it is ALL white. When my print shows blue, it is ALL blue. There is no green tint permeating the whole frame of every sequence, act, and entire film either. My print of Fellowship of the Ring does not exhibit the green tint you desire everybody to believe. Now, I do not have a way to prove YOUR accusations that I am now a liar too. I also have no need to prove myself to you or anyone else. I posted my comments truthfully and to let everyone know there are setups that are not exhibiting the green tint you would like everybody to believe exists across the board on every person's setup. As I said before this is a load of bollocks and I know that it is now. If you and other people have a problem somewhere with your setups or prints I don't know what to say, but I don't have those problems. Again, I said my print of this film does not have ANY HINT of a green tint and that is not an exaggeration but pure fact. Now if someone in my area wants to come and see for themselves that is fine with me. That way I can rub this whole issue in your face. Besides posting photos is being a waste of time for me, all you have to say is I did something with Photoshop to correct the image before posting it. I am not stupid and I'm not some young punk kid that does not know what I'm talking about. I also do not need you haranguing me about a non issue on my end that does not appear ANYWHERE on my setup. Some of those screenshots are ludicrous and anybody who buys into that, well......of course there could be a lot of things going on there and I do not feel the need to sort your problems out. As far as me posting a complaint to Warner, well...that will happen when H**L freezes over because there is nothing wrong on my setup that warrants that criticism.

To the poster that asked about if "anyone received their box set from Barnes and Noble yet and what condition it was in" is I received mine on Friday and it came in pristine condition. Now I probably will have to prove that too because........
Please calm down. You have been very vocal that there is absolutely no green tint whatsoever when you watch FOTR EE Blu-ray. Given the overwhelming objective proof that the FOTR EE Blu-ray DOES have some green/teal/cyan tint, I simply stunned by your absolute certainty that no such tint exists. There are VERY few people claiming the complete and utter lack of a green tint. Most people are saying that they see the green tint (to varying degrees here and there) but they don't find it objectionable. THAT is a subjective opinion that I can understand.

I'm pleased for you that you are so happy with the transfer. But if you are so happy, why are you so angry? Why are you so bothered by the fact that some of us CAN see the green tint and wish to discuss it? If you don't want to read anymore about it then I suggest simply not reading this topic. I could understand it if it was only 1 or 2 people mentioning the green tint. But it's far more people than that. All of these reviews mention the green tint:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/4590..._extended.html

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-L.../19929/#Review

http://blubrew.com/2011/06/16/the-fe...ended-edition/

That last one was recently updated with even more information about the green tint!

My apologies for asking you to prove to us that your FOTR EE Blu-rays are completely free of the green tint. I'd like to see this utter lack of green tint. But there are so few of you taking that position and you were so vocal about it, I figured you were a good candidate to show us the white. Obviously, I was mistaken.

Mark

He said it at the theaters for the EE FOTR screening and warner also made a statement about it. I think he thinks its enough for everybody. Case closed

Unless it's anything other than PJ saying "No, this is not how I intended it to look" then these people won't believe or accept it.

why is warner's word not enough that it is intentional. You can bet they asked him about it. Thats why it took them some time to address the issue on the matter.

FACTS:

1) Screen captures are not pictures of a display. No camera is used. Screen captures are an exact copy of the binary data on the Blu-ray disc. A slice of zeros and ones.

2) By their very nature, appropriately created screen captures are 100% representative of what is encoded on the disc.

3) A TV display that matches the screen captures is a display that is showing an ACCURATE representation of what is actually on the disc.

4) A TV display that hides, alters, or minimizes the data encoded on the actual disc is a display that is not properly calibrated.

My JVC display is showing me the truth. Your display is lying to you.

And thank you for the comment about how bad it looks on my display! You're right, the added green tint is horrible!

Yeah i don't think he will do that. I still think he thinks it is enough that he made the statement at the theaters and warner did it for him last week.

The evidence is so clear that this is intentional. I just find it hard to believe that anyone thinks otherwise even after warner's statement last week on the issue.
