If you have a Kindle, I'm pretty sure that they are in the Kindle store. They might be missing ROTK, but I am pretty sure I saw The Hobbit as well as FOTR and TTT the other day. I think there were a couple other popular Tolkein books in there as well if I remember correctly. If you have a nook or other reader, I'm not sure about availability.

Just Kidding, I can only see that it has the 6 small statues.

I like it anyway. I'll try to get one for my LOTR collection.

I think those "statues" are chess pieces. Note that 3 have a blue band around the base and 3 have a green band. It reminds me of the Franklin/Danbury Mint chess set they came out with when the movies were in theaters. Could that exclusive be a reproduction of the set? The packaging looks big enough to hold a foldable chess board as well.

Agreed, mostly - IMO, The Two Towers theatrical edition is better than the EE version. The pacing is perfect and 99% of what was left out makes sense. Im on the fence with Return of the King. The EE has some great stuff added and some not so important stuff added. It has pacing issues but they arent too bad. I guess Id take the EE of Return of the King if I had to make a choice. Fellowship is a no-brainer - The EE is a better film all around, not even close.

So, IMHO:

Fellowship - The Extended edition is easiyl the right choice
Two Towers - The Theatrical is the right choice
Return - Viewers choice but I *suppose* Id take the extended version.

Either way, I preordered the EE set. I did NOT but the TE editions when they came out. I plan on scooping a single copy of the Two Towers TE version from someone looking to sell, or just buy it new for $10 bucks. I do want the theatrical cut of that film.

It's like we're twins. I agree 100%. Fellowship, the EE is so much better. The Two Towers EE is flat out awful and ROTK is somewhere in the middle....

Hmm have never bought the LOTR movies (yes they exist ) and have only seen the theatricals a few times. Though usually I prefer the extended editions and I'm not going to buy both the theatricals and extended, so it is the extended versions for me.

Although I'm going to wait to buy it until the price drops, I can't justify spending 55 pounds for three movies when the Star Wars set cost 67 pounds.
And it's not like the theatricals didn't drop a bit in price

Will this have French (or Spanish) for all three? It seems really really really really silly to have two of the unextended in Spanish (Fellow & Return) but the two towers is in French. All three are also in English.

I don't believe that information is available yet, but according to this site, the theatrical blu-rays have:
English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 ES Matrix
Spanish: Dolby Digital 2.0
Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1 EX

Unless those are really really different than what the single copies I have, I probably won't get em. The copy of the two towers I have is French audio (along with English) and a digital copy of all three as a separate disc. Weird.

That is rather odd to switch it up like that!
It seems like they should all either have Spanish, French, or both!

Edit: Apparently you speak English, and the English will be 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Why wouldn't that be acceptable for you? I'm just curious.

I was wondering this also, but I guess that we will just have to wait and see what those BB/Target sale flyers have them going for.
