Does it really bother you that I'm asking for other peoples opinions on the PQ that have not already voiced it? Stop being a smarta$$.

The picture quality is pretty similar to the HDX version that is streaming on Vudu It appears to be an older master, likely created for the release of the DVD that came out back in '99. Definitely not as pristine or clean as the source used for the Twilight Time release

I received my copy today. Like a couple of people have already said the pic quality is OK with what seems like a tad bit of digital tinkering, like many old transfer suffer from, slight EE and dirt/debris but overall a very pleasant presentation. Much better than the TT release. I would rate the video 3.5/5 and audio 4/5.

If you'd been paying attention, you'd know that most of us haven't received ours yet. Do you really think people were just waiting around for you to ask for their opinion?

And yeah, it's a little annoying that you came into the thread and started asking questions that were answered a mere page or two back because you were too lazy to look for yourself. Virtually every post you've made in this thread has been either a question that's already been answered or your attempt to justify asking questions that have already been answered.

You are the one clearly not paying attention and just trying to start some forum "drama". Again, as I said there is nothing wrong with me asking for other peoples opinions on their intial impressions of the PQ. This seems a little more personal on your part, buddy.

I seen the screencaps before, and? I can't ask others for their opinions just because someone posted screencaps? You're insane.

Still waiting on mine to arrive, ordered on 2/14 and shipped on 3/30 so it should be here soon. What method of shipping did they use and was their a tracking number?

I envy all of you that have already received yours! Still waiting for mine, patiently. But I've come to expect long waits from jb, not a problem since all my orders have arrived in excellent condition.

Nothing here in PA yet. Overseas stuff varies wildly in delivery times, in my UK ordering experience.

Actually glad I cancelled my preorder. I prefer the clarity of the TT release over the HDX, even with the color timing issues. Since I already have the HDX version, I'll stick with the TT disc for a while longer.

Comparing the Umbrella release to the TT release, there is a huge improvement in the colours and brightness.

If you watch the Umbrella disk then watch the TT disk immediately afterwards it will shock you to see how bad the TT disk is

The print of the HDX Vudu version looks ancient though. It's so speckled and dirty. The TT wins out in clarity by leaps and bounds. Yeah, they definitely overkilled it with the blue and the darkness, but the print is pristine.

My point was that since I have that disc and the Vudu version, there's really no reason to buy the Umbrella copy since it'll look the same as the Vudu one.

Yeah it does look like a circa 2000 scan, with all the tell tale signs, but I did find the fine detail to be fairly good.

The speckles and dirt are really noticeable in the opening cemetery scene. Once the action moved to the house it was less noticeable, but of course is still present.

We are free to pick our preferred poison here. I cannot stand the ruined colours personally, and would rather watch the less polished scan.

I wonder if Umbrella tried to get access to the newer scan? I would like to know why they didn't use it... Surely it exists in an unmolested form?

I'd be surprised if Sony has an available non-tainted (or tinted ) copy of the master used for the TT release. Like I'm sure it's in some file somewhere, but not something they could or would just easily license to someone.

I just recieved NOTLD LE.
shipped 3/30 - Recieved 4/14 Illinois
so im thinking that many will be recieving theirs any day now.

If you are going to spend your time inspecting every little speck then you will be disapointed.

I havent seen the whole movie through because i have a long day ahead. but
I personally liked what i viewed when i played the blu-ray for a few minutes and i dont regret my purchase.

What caught my eye immediately was the fine detail, the color and no blue tint, just beautiful!.
