I'm calling sold out by 3pm pt

ebay with be flooded with these for a while so imo its best off to hold on to your second copy for a while. With so many extras that will be floating around, the going rate will be low - compared to FN that is. I'm just really unsure if these TT films will be released by someone else after the 3 year bs. That would possibly reduce the value and demand on them because of a lower price and extra features too. I'm hoping for some true limited editions here, but how would we be able to speculate if/when (after 3 years of course)/how much/and by whom would re release these movies?

collecting is becoming less and less cooler by the day, I'm on the verge of cashing out 95% of my "collectibles" and putting a down on first house

that's how dissappointed I am in the collectible world these days

********oops just saw above post about other companies, sorry.

Going into a a thread about a TT release and posting that they SUCK, NO LIMITED EDITION CRAP, and that you are not supporting their "overpriced BS is trolling". Look it up if you must.

Some of the more obscure titles may not get a re-release, but the ones that sold out real quick.. hell yes, they will get re-released with more special features (which Sony has wisely held back on giving TT).

There have been auctions up on eBay ever since this title was first announced. There is no doubt that this will sell out but I find it hilarious that some sellers have already jumped the gun with already "sold out"; just a tad bit of misinformation at the moment.

This could be your last chance to ever get it. However it will not be released to me until October 9th 2012 so I can't ship until then.

Well it really is just stuff, isn't it? I mean -- you can't take it with you when the end comes.

Don't get me wrong I've got a few collectibles but materialism isn't exactly going to make most of us happy. I started looking around at a lot of the stuff I had accumulated over the years and selling it off. I don't need a lot of it, hardly do anything with it but display it.

If I was in a different financial situation perhaps I'd enjoy it more but honestly at this point I find little use for a lot of it. My BD collection exists because I like the films in the best A/V quality. I couldn't care less if something is "limited" -- seems odd to me to value something just because a lot of other people can't or don't have it...

I'm gonna get slammed for this one...

Just a business model that's being used by TT. They've been using that exact same model for their soundtracks for several decades now.

I highly doubt that. These titles wich are being released by TT are fairly unknown. FRIGHT NIGHT and this one are just because the peeps need to eat too

To be fair, some titles (like Fright Night) never had any special features to begin with.

I think it's more like "EASY MONEY" for Sony.

Yes, image quality factors into my decision more than the actual quality of the film. I should be ashamed.
Rest assured Eddie. All you have to know going in is that this has been transferred from a Sony HD-ready master. Although some of TT's Fox titles have varied a bit depending with the condition of the source elements and/or the last best studio master, all of Sony's titles have had rock solid production end-to-end, including lossless AVC encodes by TT's production team.

The Sony output from this label has been just about as close a 'hand-in-glove' fit with the original film as you will find in the Blu-ray format.

So... where's the discussion of the movie?

Since I decided to bail on the arguments... I've seen:

1. Multiple posts on how many copies are left.
2. Multiple posts on people posting how they are buying extras to sell.
3. Multiple posts on people talking about buying black cases from eBay.

So... it's not like taking out one side of the argument is doing anything to take away the other side? People don't seem all that interested in the movie itself... but mostly how quickly it will sell out so they can sell their extra copies to the unfortunate people who missed out and double the price on them.

There are a lot of pages where it's been discussed. When there are this few copies left, that's going to be the focus, being it's limited.

The limited apsect is a huge part of the release and discussing the availability is def on topic.
