If Luke ever goes dark side in these movies I will hate them on principle.

Luke going dark could be one of the more interesting stories they could do here. Or maybe Lea.

I won't either, but I don't think it will happen. I'm thinking most of the major plot developments revolve around all of the new characters, and the OT cast will have smaller parts to play in the new trilogy. At least that's what I hope.

That was George Lucas' original story, written by Michael Arndt. They're using a new script by JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan which focuses on the original characters. The young cast will only be the main focus in Episodes VIII and IX.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Disney/Starwars.com confirm that they'll be showing any/all videos shown during the panels on the live stream? In other words, instead of showing just those in attendance any possible footage, trailers to VII, it will also be shown on the live stream.

If something like that happened, it would absolutely break my heart. I would just be flat out disgusted.

I also highly doubt Luke is going to the dark side. If Durth Vurder and The Emp couldn't convert him, no one can. Luke will be a hero to the end.

Yep. If it were to happen, Luke's fall would have to be the main thrust of the trilogy, so that's a big strike against it.

Aye.

Having Luke fall to the Dark Side (at least permanently) would be a huge strike against the Star Wars mythos overall imo.

The whole concept of the prequel was the fall of Anakin, and the OT was that a true Hero (Luke), his very own son, could "save" him (true redemption would only have been brought forth by atonement to his crimes, which he never had a chance to do aside from saving his own son's life) by having enough faith in him.

What would it say about the entire PT and OT arcs if the redeemer himself falls to corruption?

That is a lot of great content streaming this weekend so I know where I will be and what I will be doing.

I also hope that Luke turning to the darkside isn't what we are going to get but after seeing what Abrams did to the Star Trek characters anything is possible.

I know Harrison Ford has always had a love/hate relationship with his association with Star Wars, but you would think he could at least do one of these Celebrations for the fans that helped contribute to his acting career.

Let's just hope someone asks the 'grandaddy" of all questions. If, who, what , when, why and how on the UOT BD release!
