[Show spoiler]Yeah, it definitely was a tough scene to watch, both with Chewie's reaction, but also with Han's hope of being able to get his son back after what he said about being pulled between the light and the dark sides. He would've thought he was going to do it and bring him home like Leia asked, only to be the catalyst who completes his fall over to the dark side. And then poor Leia when she realises as well.

Not to mention him being named after Obi-Wan who saved him in ANH, and now Obi-Wan's namesake and Han's own son killing him. Very tragic.

oh god. they show Adam Driver's face ;(.. that totally sucked any tension out of the scene. again, all I can see is nerd/hipster and it DOESN'T look good (not bashing the movie, I'm as excited as balls to see it, but I"m also nervous after getting burned BADLY with "The Phantom Menace" years ago)

I find it strange how the light from the clouds cuts out to black, instantly changing Kylo's mind to kill Han. Perhaps it wasn't Kylo, but in fact he was under the Mind Trick of Snoke? I am uncertain about this unless that was just a coincidence to make Hans death moodier.

I thought it was a bit bland and a step below the prequels.

And though the prequels didn't work this new movie makes me appreciate the amount of creativity Lucas put into them.

[Show spoiler]I know. I think because I have been attached to these characters for so many years, it really, really hurt to lose one of them. But I suppose if there is no real threat for the heroes then the story has no real point. I just didn't think we would have to say goodbye so soon.

The sound has alot to do with it, I've always found EP 3 to be quite tame (especcially compared to Ep 1 and 2)

The sound on the naboo cruiser (together with the seismic charges later in the film) is some of the best sound design ever /me thinks.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like how unoriginal this is. Just as I expected JJ is not brave enough to go into some new stuffs. This is the real Special Edition of A New Hope. Very high RT no doubt, but give it time everyone will see the reality of what it really is. People are longing for something that was considered to be lost to be saved again that anything resembling the old stuff is gold. Jurassic World proved that. I'll be watching again of Friday and see if it gets any better (doubtful).

But that's the thing... There's nothing wrong with covering that same ground, as long as the characters and writing is good. So far, everyone but you seems to think so. Jurassic World failed because it's characters were crap compared to the original. Force Awakens doesn't have that same problem.

Yeah it's only me. I have no problem with that. My opinion is still valid as everyone else who has seen it. Characters and entertainment are good not denying that. But that's not all about a good film. I'm giving everyone as long as they need to finally give their honest opinion. I'll accept whatever their verdict at that time.

I wonder if this exact film is written and directed by Lucas, will he be praised or criticized to no end again?
