I thought I posted already.. but... Finally got around to watching it via Vudu. Epic PQ. The movie was pretty damn good also.

That's fine, but for someone to go on and on and on about an aspect of the format which they've never even seen for themselves (to know if it actually makes a difference to them or not) is a bit much.

had to come back here and give this transfer some more cred as I rewatched it tonight

the HDR and pq is A++++ on this release, this is my top UHD disc, i would rate it even better than Revenant tbh

I am thinking the same. This was the the first UHD disc I got a wow effect comparable to BD like I had several years ago from VHS to DVD and DVD to BD. PR's HDR rules

the pq on this is so amazing that i caught myself in awe several times, even reflected upon the viewing this morning, this disc truly is demo material for anyone wondering how big the leap potential is from bd to 4k

the movie being kickass also doesnt hurt, it has so many bright colors that it was made for HDR, looked stunning on my ks8000

And this is only an up-convert!
I wonder how glorious the sequel will look as that should be a full 4k release!

For the use it does of HDR but not for detail, I find some scenes to be soft looking.

This is correct. The hdr is the star of the show. Alot of owners, as well as reviews, commented that there doesn't seem to be much resolution improvement over the 1080p bluray. It is an HDR reference disc for sure tho. But not resolution. The bar standards have been raised very high.

If this had been playing endlessly on every 4K TV at every electronics store I visit I would have upgraded a lot sooner, serious mind blowing stuff. I wouldn't say it bests watching it in 3D (for me, that is) but it easily matches it.

Sorry guys if this issue been brought up before I just really can't read thought all the pages, does anybody experience the stop and skipped chapters? It happens to me at the same scenes of the disc and every time that I played, I'm using Oppo 203 (w latest firmware) if it's the disc then I'd ask for replacement copy / thanks guys

I'm hoping this goes on some kind of sale for Black Friday. I'd buy it here in Canada but I really dislike the Bilingual covers/spines we're often forced to get. Currently, this is $31.50 on amazon but with shipping and currency conversion that's like $55CDN :x
