The most fun scene that I recall from this film is an angry Annette Funicello referring to Diane McBain as "track trash." It's a fun change from Annette's normally bubbly persona.

Ah, so this is an Ed McBain 87th Precinct film, cool. His books are great

I wonder why Amazon MGM is bothering with this MOD line if they could license these to a label like Kino or Sandpiper. Were those labels uninterested?

MGM is really spreading out their physical media releases. Aside from their deals with boutiques (probably all of them), their own releases are split between Warner/SDS, Deuce (low-tier catalog DVDs only), and now these MOD/Allied Vaughn Blu-rays.

Did MGM's distribution deal with Warner Bros. just expire, or is it renewed/still ongoing? It was signed five years ago yesterday.

I know that Kino has declined a few of these films. Some labels after COVID are trying to play it safe by re-releasing films that they know are going to sell.

Well then props to MGM for releasing them at all.

Town Without Pity (1961) getting an MGM MOD release. This is the first time it's being released on Blu-ray.

Has MGM's HE distribution deal with Warner Bros. been expired or renewed? It was neglected several times other than the Bond, Rocky and Terminator releases and new MGM films, mostly because of Jason Kilar gutting and folding WB's home entertainment division during his tenure in the AT&T years, combined with Amazon buying and folding MGM into Amazon Studios.

I still for the life of me can’t figure out how Amazon does not distribute their United Artists movies. They are so much bigger than Warner Bros. Discovery. Most of these movies are bought on Amazon. I’m actually shocked anyone at Amazon has heard of The Pusher.

Judging by this release, it's still going:
https://www.target.com/p/willy-wonka...-/A-1004597786

On the topic of Warner and MGM, I still feel the idea of Warner and Amazon merging would not be a bad idea if it also meant all of MGM can be together again. Also, keep in mind; Amazon seems to have no problem with MGM sublicesning out their titles so if a merger does happen, the same can apply to Warner.

As pointed out by @Garysb on the other forum looks like this release will be in open matte instead of the theatrical aspect ratio (which I believe should be 1.66:1):

That triple feature set's kind of ironic but also makes sense, seeing that an MGM-owned UA title like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is now paired again with a pre-1986 MGM film (and one of the studio's most famous movies even) like Wizard of Oz. It sort of feels like the MGM/UA Home Video years again, doesn't it? (I know Willy Wonka is also included and that WB has owned that title since the 1980s, but still.)

I just read that MGM's international theatrical distribution deal with WB expires at the end of this year, and that Amazon MGM plans to start their own international distribution arm and has even tapped Sony to distribute four of their movies overseas through March 2026 and support select territories for the studio (who would also self-distrbute in other territories) after that. Is this going to affect their home entertainment deal with WB as well?
