Thumbs up Midnight Meat Train

Thought I would just post a thread for those interested in this title, since the review is now up. I'm glad to see the blu comes highly recommended and the movie itself was praised.

This was my favorite Horror release of 2008 and it's just awesome. Very tense film and the end is shocking

Terrible movie. Boring all the way through and the ending was a pathetic attempt at trying to blow people away. Too much effort in the ending not nearly enough attention to the rest of the movie. I was ready to take a ride on the snooze train by the end of this.

I was sooo excited to see this, but was rather disappointed.
Kind of lost steam for me after about the 30 minute mark or so and I just really hated how the ending was developed.

I too caught this on HD on Demand and was pleasantly surprised by the movie, thought it was pretty good. Don't think I will purchase it, but I do recommend it to those that are horror film fans.

It's unfortunate this movie didn't get the attention it deserved, as it's one of the more original horror movies to come out in a long time.

Taken from Wikipedia: Clive Barker was angry with the Lionsgate's treatment, believing that Lionsgate president Joe Drake is essentially shortchanging other people’s films in order to focus more attention on movies like The Strangers, where he (Joe Drake) received a producing credit: "The politics that are being visited upon it have nothing to do with the movie at all. This is all about ego, and though I mourn the fact that Midnight Meat Train was never given its chance in theaters, it’s a beautifully stylish, scary movie, and it isn’t going anywhere. People will find it, and whether they find it in midnight shows or they find it on dvd, they’ll find it, and in the end the Joe Drakes of the world will disappear."

Yeah Lionsgate dumped it in Discount Cinemas. And they tried to give the same treatment to "Repo!" but couldn't get away with it.

I actually was lucky enough to have a $2 theater in our town, and this opened there first day. So I got to watch it a couple of times.

StarScream, I thought it was a porno too! I never heard of it and when I read the title I was like WTF?! Is that a new porno coming to blu-ray? Thats great. Is this the kind of movie like There Will Be Blood, where everyone raves about it and I wind up watching it and am like huh? This was so well reviewed why? No one actually needs to answer that since it was pretty much rhetorical.
But I definitely want to rent this sucker, now that I know it's a horror movie that is actually getting positive reviews.
