Paramount can. I'll give you 150 million reasons.

Universal, I'm hoping, must be thinking enough is enough already.

I agree. We shouldn't assume that everyone who bought Transformers HD-DVD passed on the Blu-Ray BOGO.

Man, I really think that you guys are giving too much credit to Transformers. There is no way that it's going to be even close next week. I mean think about it, sure Transformers is one title (it's an across the board for Blu-ray). Look at Amazon rankings, the top 20 BD movies have hovered right around 100 (number 20) or better. Number 20 for HDDVD is currently 1032 (to 118 for BD).

Last week I bought 19 BD movies. I normally buy 2 or 3 a month!

I would not be surprised if next week the numbers continue in the same trend.

I agree with you completely. I just about doubled the number of Blu-Ray movies in my collection this week.

The good times are here!!

Come to think of it........if HD-DVD owners are so cost conscious, they just may pass on the hidef version for the cheaper DVD version.

Congratulations and Congratulations dont tell me i'm not helping you or i'm not falling in love with BD.

Thank god they're out early, don't have to keep checking back!

Great figures, a good 5 points better than I expected.

I agree completely. I had owned 14 BDs as of last Sunday. As of today, I own 24 BDs. My understanding is that I'm not the only one who went to town this week. Next week's Nielsen's should be, if not a mortal blow, a damn heavy blast to HD-DVD. Blu FTW!

oh, this is good. I know I am pessimist, but really happy. Finally BD back in 70+. Don't know about next week though. Hopefully it's not 40% BD

Hey,

Thing is,.. If you look at why the Pirates movies are 8 and 9 you will see some uber-crap DVD sales beating them. I don't know how next week will go but I can't wait to find out.

Transformers is going to stomp everything else in the charts, but overall Blu-ray could very well win the week by 55:45 to 60:40 or better.

The sales have been fantastic.

Every sale of a BD is a sale that counts. I don't think that the US is the only country that is going to be the deciding factor, even though they don't show up in the rankings. Just a question though, are there any other rankings like the Nielsens in other countries? It would be interesting to see.

What a great way to start the weekend! Three Blu-ray titles: FF2, Surf's Up, and 28 Weeks Later beat the top HD-DVD title Evan Almighty. Eight out of the top ten titles are Blu-ray!

Yes Sure about it every sale of BD does count it.I hope one day i can find the sales in other countries already heard that BD is dominant the world.Whereas HD-DVD has an effect is in US a slight effect but you guys are fighting them hard too hard.Believe me if PS3 doesnt exist ,i dont know if we were celebrating BD victory today.

NO ONE SHOULD understimate the power and effect of PS3 even UNIVERSAL,Paramount and TOSHIBA
