He didn't specify specific models of Blu-Rays fail, he basically said they all do. The only one he mentioned by name is the PS3. I suppose I could dig up the why but I don't want to go back to yet another "neutral" pro-HD-DVD site.

I know this site is biased. I accept that. But at least it doesn't claim to be neutral.

He's building suspense to boost his ego. He put in an appearance at HDD around 5 o'clock to make sure everyone new it was coming. What a journalist.

Most likely the numbers are BAD for HD-DVD this week. If he was excited about the numbers he would have posted them as soon as he got them. If they were bad, he may not post them at all and we will have to wait till friday.

It's like waiting for a baby to be born.

Got a feeling that it won't be good news for the red ants, otherwise the figures would have been out earlier than usual.

That was my point...putting up stories that Blu is "unreliable" without specific information is nothing but FUD. And don't worry about getting all the details from his site, I have been there, and I know there is nothing worth reading...

Really? What did he have to say? FUD, or just more "suspense" so he can before HE releases the numbers?

Interesting news from Hollywood Reporter 'Bourne' in on action with 'Potter':

Quote:
On the HD DVD chart, "Bourne" outsold "Potter" by a margin of nearly 2-to-1. On the Blu-ray Disc chart, "Pirates" remained in the top sales spot for the second week, with newcomer "Potter" debuting at No. 2.

He probably has something big, like Bourne numbers or HDDVD actually did win (but that would probably have been on HMM with an article by now). If he is posting other places he is trying build anticipation for something.

I love the part where the Aardvark says "Hey Ant! I want to talk to you about your future"

No wonder I like Blu-Ray: I always loved the Aardvark show as a kid and I hated ants.

I just read that. What a bizarre twist. This means that Harry Potter didn't fair well at all on HD DVD or Blu-ray.

I'll add something to that. WB didn't go out of their way like the exclusive studios to say On Blu-ray or whatever and that could have hurt them. I wonder what the results will be. :O

So, assuming Potter on BD sold at 2:1 (high side of usual), Potter BD sold approx the same as Bourne and, since POTC3 sold more than Potter BD and BD catalogues always do better then HD DVD, we should have a win for the week. Fingers crossed.

Well, Bourne massively outselling Potter is what HD needed to have happen to win the week. Guess it'll be interesting to see the numbers.

Actually, from the way it's worded they did exactly what I wish they wouldn't do. Count the damn box sets along with the titles. I don't care that title #2 was "Order of the Phoenix", I want to know what the SUM of OotP + box set sold.

I'll be shocked if Pirates outsells the sum of the two. Bourne not so much.

Well since the Reporter is starting to put stuff up he should be quick or they will leak it before him.

I honestly think some people are waiting for all seven before they pull the trigger. I have never owned any of the potter's but love the movies. I was really considering this boxset, but my gf asked why I wasn't waiting for all seven. I realized she was right. I'll rent ootp, but when all 7 come out, I'll purchase them on bd in a sec. in a sweet ass box set. Maybe others were like me and figured they'd wait.

I would tend to agree with this 'analysis'

It should be a win for BD for sure, perhaps even a middling to decent one.

"Our reporters made the rounds of Wal-Mart stores last month and were amazed at how little the store clerks know about next-generation media. Wal-Mart is one of the leaders in HD DVD player sales, and yet store clerks were steering customers toward those upconverting DVD players rather than the hot new high-definition machines we in the industry were buzzing about."

Note POtC3 is #1 on blu, HP was #2 on blu. Bourne=2xHP-red.

If HP-blu = 1.5x HP-red, then ... well, it depends on HP-blu vs HP-red. We should know.
