That's the leaked overall numbers. David has been relatively straight on those. It's the actual title ratios I'm most interested in.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the "1.2:1" was creative rounding on their part...keeping in mind that he believes Paramount's Transformers numbers.
If he believes the TF numbers, than simple statistical tools on the First Alert numbers will show that 300-HDM combined did not sell 250k as WB claimed in week1 but 340k+. That he cannot acknowledge that discrepancy means that he either doesn't understand what is a deviation that cannot be explained with known facts, or he has a bias that he is not able/willing to put aside.

The 340k is the Nielsen volume number for '300' sales through October 21st. It's not 1st alert week 1.

Just in case you planned on challenging him with that.

It was only one week that it came out on monday, and that was the monday after Thanksgiving. The hard numbers should be out any minute.

Next weeks numbers will be quite odd with the early releases of movies.
I picked up Rush Hour 3 today while hitting up Best Buy's bogo, which is supposed to be out sunday and I could have picked up Pan's Labyrinth also but decided to wait so it will count to next week.
We also have to remember that hd gets a buy 2 get 1 free on ANY movie at Best Buy so save some movies to buy during the week.

yep, creative rounding is a very good possiblity out of a red shill like vaughn. for an example if people don't know what we are talking about, lets say, HP did 45000 on HD DVD and 64000 on blu-ray. DV comes out and rounds hd dvd up to 50000 and blu-ray down to 60000 and says 1.2:1 was the ratio.

Right-O. I'd imagine they want to publish that puppy earliest so they can get out of Dodge for the holiday.
