And season3 comes out in Sept-Nov timeframe, the price will go down I hope, BB had this a $199 it's first week out and lowered it down to $179. Amazon is still the best place to get the HDM cheap, but we'll see after the 1st when the 10% off goes away.

well blus winning look at the charts, but i think whats bad is most ppl dont know what there buying.they go o i have an xbox buy the hd add on they need to check and see the studio support.i mean are there titles hd has i would like on blu of course!but overall blu has wayyyyyy more.Plus disney i mean come on kids like movies and when they cry for a movie there going to get it.I'd love to see transformers in blu and someday it will happen. The Blu camp didnt have to pay a bunch of money to get there support they got it because there the best.

WOW....
Been away a couple of weeks, nothing changes, the excuses keep flowing!

The POTC week delivered despite very high expectations, while this week must be devastating for HD-DVD, I really believed it would be 50-50 give or take 5 points either way!

Personally I'm not interested in Harry Potter, but on the HD-DVD side they have little to choose from, so I thought it would have performed much better.

I guess thats it for HD-DVD, I doubt they'll come close to winning another week, especially as standalones reduce in price.

Blu will continue to walk away!!! I just hope they announce WB exclusive Blu soon. That would mark the true END of the war.

I am sorry to disappoint you but your assumption is way off. Microsoft in the red camp guarantees that there will alway be enough money. Which has always been the scariest part. Unfortunately!!

It sold GREAT compared to HD DVDs normal releases, but it got nowhere even near transformers level.
You can't take anything away from Bourne just because POTC3 continues to do well (not just well, but fantastically. Kudos to Disney) Also, we have no absolute sales data yet to make any real judgements.

If there's a disappointment this week, it would surely have to be HP.

I agree, I think that HD DVD is primarily selling to uninformed people who have no idea what they're buying, or what Blu-ray has to offer by comparison.

you gotta figure a lot of ps3 owners asked for POTC 3 from their mom&dad, gf, wife, friend, brother, or kids. as it is a movie that is an appropriate gift for anybody to give anybody (imagine getting superbad from your mom or your daughter a lot of holiday shopping is done within the last 10 days of xmas, so these ppl wouldn't be picking it up until about a week ago. its gotta have done about 60k last week, which is the best second week ever i believe. i know i asked for it from my parents, and my brother asked me to get it for him for xmas. my family bundled the order, so we could get the free super shipping from amazon, so we didn't buy it til last week.

I'm sure Disney is very happy with the performance of this one!

if Universal wants our money go ahead and think logically by releasing on BD.

What if Bourne is now on BD what do you expect universal the result will be?

hopefully you are asking this question yourself and probably find an answer for your question.

HD-DVD is a dead format.
