Do you have the pre order link? this is weird way of releasing a classic movie LOL. All I can find is the DVD & CD.

They haven't put it up yet. But when they do, please someone post it in this thread.

That is cool it is from Screen Archives though, I get a lot of very hard to find CD's from them, like I just found Halloween IV and V soundtracks on CD, and a lot of others, so a blu-ray and soundtrack combo would be COOL

Their not gonna charge a arm and a leg for this movie are they? Seeing how they would be the only place to buy it.

Wow. I honestly didn't expect this to happen. Even with the remake just fresh in theatres I didn't expect an announcement on the original so quickly.

I haven't seen the original since it first released on VHS and can't remember much about it (if anything at all). I'll have to revisit it somehow before I decide to pull the trigger... ESPECIALLY AT THAT PRICE POINT!

I pray that the cover art for this won't be some cheap-looking photoshopped crap and that they will use the beautiful original poster, yet how could they not?

Would you define $40 as an arm and a leg?

Where does it say anywhere the soundtrack will be included? It says the distributor is the "the nation’s largest independent distributor of specialty soundtracks." Now sure how that's difficult to read...

Again, don't expect writer/director Tom Holland to do a commentary. He doesn't have a good relationship with Columbia. Check out the two "pirate" commentaries online. Just google it.

I can't speak for others, but, $40 for this seems damn good to me. For the 3000 limited edition size, that's pretty fair. If the Criterion logo was slapped on this no one would even be questioning it. Some people were probably expecting to scoop this up as a $10 Sony catalog title. I'd rather have this then a no frills release. Hey, that's just me.....

Yeah, you're right. For some reason I read isolated score = soundtrack. That's what I get for reading and typing with 3 kids running around the house.

Their previous (only?) Blu release, The Egyptian, is $40 so I'm assuming Fright Night will be the same. Not available for preorder yet.

Okay, but I avoid Criterions because they're so expensive (that, and extras are useless to me). The only time I even consider buying one is when Barnes & Noble run their 50% off sale. Frankly, I have mixed feelings about this release. It's a no-brainer that I want it, but being forced to buy early and pay $40 for it pretty much blows. Personally, I wish Sony would've just released it as one of their catalog titles. Then, I could go to Best Buy (or whatever) at my leisure and pick it up for $15.
