I'm surprised Twilight Time is letting them use their commentary for The Big Heat.
Anyways, that is a nice cover. Even though The Big Heat is one of my favorites, I think I'll pass even if it is region free since I already bought both Twilight Time editions. |

Warner will be releasing The Yakuza (1974) via the Archive Collection on February 14th. Many sources say it's a Neo-noir, and I'd agree that it fits. I'll be adding it to the list, unless others object.

My money is on Kino releasing it eventually, since they've put out so many of the other Fox film noirs. I'm going to hold off on importing for now, since I'm still sitting on my German copy of Deadline USA that Kino announced just after I bought it.

Last year, MisterLime had said it was with another label. I'm guessing it's with Criterion, but I suppose there's an outside chance of it being Arrow.

Kino has formally announced the details for their release of The Scar (aka Hollow Triumph) (1948). It includes a commentary track with historian Imogen Sara Smith, author of the noir book "In Lonely Places: Film Noir Beyond the City"

NJ, have you read this yet? It looks good and I was thinking of getting it on Kindle with my Amazon slow ship digital credits:

ClassicFlix has said their first two releases (besides POISON, they are also coming out with a Shirley Temple comedy, MISS ANNIE ROONEY from 1942) will have no bonus features, but will include English subtitles. POISON comes from a Cohen restoration so should look very good. MSRP will be $29.99 and will be available at "all major ONLINE retail outlets," including Amazon. No mention in their announcement if these will be BD-Rs. |
