Did "I, the Jury" play in any retro theaters this year, the way remastered classic films often do? I would love to see it in 3-D on the big screen.

Kino have announced a new release of The Lady from Shanghai coming January 31st. It has new commentary tracks from Imogen Sara Smith, and Tim Lucas. It also has some extras that I don't believe were found on the releases from Indicator, TCM, or Mill Creek.

The Indicator release doesn't have the Eddie Muller comments and of course the two new commentaries.
From the Indicator, Kino is missing the Simon Callow video essay, the brief archival interview with Rita Hayworth, the Joe Dante trailer commentary, the image gallery, and from the OOP collector's edition, the 40-page booklet. |

I also feel no need to re-buy The Lady from Shanghai, a noir I don't have a ton of love for.
That said, Welles' monologue about the shark-eating frenzy is a pretty damn cool cinematic moment. |

At this rate, it wouldn’t surprise me if Kino announces The Big Heat. It’s another Sony noir that Indicator released, but that one has no US edition in print since Twilight Time’s editions are long OOP.
They might also announce some of the noirs in Mill Creek’s Noir Archive sets, at least the bigger ones like Crimson Kimono (also a former TT title). |

Crimson Kimono is also part of Indicator's Samuel Fuller at Columbia box set. The Indicator edition of The Big Heat is region-free.

That would be amazing, but this film is evidently not a The Magnificent Ambersons situation, in which the footage might still be out there somewhere. In this case, it's tragically gone for good.

No, because the excised footage from TLFS was never part of the released film and was presumably discarded, like most cut footage was back then. Metropolis's missing footage was in all the original release prints, and a lot of those were destroyed during WW2 or just lost, or cut down to make shortened versions of the film. TLFS missing footage never made it to hundreds or thousands of prints like Metropolis's did.
