For all of them that adds up to 86.94 pounds or $110.23. Add in shipping and taxes and it will be higher still.
Still a great option for those that only want some of these titles, but I wanted all of them. I saved a few dollars by purchasing the OOP box set at $100 grand total. |

Amazing, since I only wanted Dead Reckoning and The Harder They Fall...the rest of that set is cheeks.
With WAC releasing They Drive by Night, I'll just need Sahara and Conflict to wrap up my Bogey collection. |

Drive A Crooked Road The Lineup The Garment Jungle Framed The Mob Tight Spot Contract by Murder The Sniper City of Fear Pushover To be honest, out of the first 24 films in the first four sets, there is probably only a couple films I didn't care for. The rest are at least decent and at best great. |

![]() Good news, it's region-free (and includes Last of the Comanches as a bonus feature), bad news is its getting pricey now and has forced (French) subs on the English-language version. If you have a player that can move them off-screen it's not a bad release. I asked Powerhouse about this when the Bogart box set was announced and they said it wasn't (at least at the time) available for them to license. |

I don't hoard, but some actors appeal to me so much I feel they make any movie worth watching just because they are in them. Cagney and Bogart hit me when I was just 14 and it was love at first sight. Oh how I remember scanning the TV Guide each and every week just hoping one of their movies was on the schedule. I wanted to see them all and the idea of actually OWNING them all transcends even that teenage dream I had. So as I would enthusiastically watch each movie on disc it's more than hoarding, but I understand what you mean.

Same. I watched a lot of these Kit Parker sets, for awhile they were my Saturday afternoon go to series, and I wound up enjoying most of them and ended up with very few complaints about transfers and overall quality, but in full disclosure, I tend to focus on the film itself, the story and characters, when I'm watching and not get lost in pixels and crushed blacks, etc.

I watched Temptation and Lady on a Train recently. Both were enjoyable, thought Temptation was a bit predictable. Lady on a Train had some really funny scenes to the point where it felt like they were making fun of Film Noir even though the movie came out at the start of the style's popularity. It had some really well shot scenes, especially towards the end in the factory.
Temptation was kind of generic, yet, it was a good time. I like how the ending leaves you guessing what the truth is, but I can't say it really had much in the way of style when it came to lighting. |

Sahara is, and has long been, my No. 1 want on blu ray. I do own the French release and agree with CouncilSpectre that it is a decent release if you can move the subtitles off the screen (an Oppo handles that very well).
Be advised it comes in a large DVD-size case. Still holding out hope for a US release though! Some day. |

Personally I didn't find any of the Bogart Indicator set close to his best films, but they are enjoyable enough.

I was wondering, since I'm always interested in special features about the genre: what releases would you consider to have the best, most extensive, set of special features?
While I do enjoy audio commentaries and the occasional video essay by genre experts, in this case I'm mostly talking about either documentaries about the genre, some period promo materials/interviews with the actual cast and/or crew, shorts, radio plays, alternate cuts/footage, basically video extras (and radio plays). thank you ![]() |
