TDK, Batman Begins, Memento and The Prestige are very high enough in the top 250

An idea is like a virus and a belief is like a permanent ailment, which is exactly the direction I see them going in if they do a sequel. Not sure it's possible to alter someone's beliefs though.

You can change an idea. A belief is a horse of a different colour. People will die for their beliefs.

After seeing it a second time
[Show spoiler]the totem was about to fall at the end.

Also, about the ranking on IMDB: I believe The Dark Knight held #1 for a while and then a lot of people said "THAT CANNOT STAND!" It then received tons of 1/10 votes.

Avatar was 9th once, it's nowhere near there. The volatility of Internet voting and the skewed voting as well are reasons why you shouldn't trust IMDb rankings too much. 10/10 voting is just as bad as 1/10 voting. Very few movies deserve votes like that anyway.

But, who cares? Honestly, I still think that Nolan did that on purpose as a way to definitively say that the story isn't about what the particular outcome of that event is.

In reference to your spoiler
[Show spoiler]Yes maybe, it also was about to fall when he initially spun it What a mind **** huh?

In about TDK, everyone that loves movies will always remember TDK because it wasnt only a great movie but i believe this is the definition of directing a movie that anyone could follow and enjoy. Nolan gets you involved, he is very skilled at getting the viewer's full attention.

i disagree, when i go to IMDB i look at the vote with the highest percentage! If a movie has 45% plus sayings its a 10/10 then it must be good, nevermind the critics, ive done this method for a while and its never failed me.

100% disagree. If ppl love a film they give it a 10/10 as a default bc they're not tough graders and haven't seen enough of objective classics, which is nothing against them, but it affects how you score. There are a lot of films I absolutely love but refuse to give a perfect score to.

Its cool if you disagree but this is my method of blind buying movies, and it hasnt failed me so far so i will continue to do it. 35% is more than enough to get my to buy the film, and i always seem to like it.

Like i said this is my method and it works.

Unless
[Show spoiler]it fell in the moments that Cobb believed he was in the real world so his subconscious mind made it fall in those moments. I seem to remember Cobb saying that the totem was something he came up with.

That's the beauty of Nolan's stories. There's so much open for interpretation.

i dont understand people arguing about
[Show spoiler]the top spinning at the end, its clearly meant to be ambiguous. Nolan is a very deliberate director. if he wanted us to think it was reality hed show the top fall over and if he wanted us to think he was still dreaming he wouldnt have shown it wobbling.

I watched this a couple of days ago. It's been slow week, but I love the film. I'll just post my facebook review.

[Show spoiler]Inception: 3.5 out of 4

There may be little awareness of dreams, they may seem as real as reality, but we also could create more that could influence ourselves, whether it could be ideas or memories, maybe from others. Inception is a puzzle about dreams, while on the surface is a slick, high octane action thriller with a complex plot about dreams. This is Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Memento) first original project in 10 years, which is how much time he spent writing Inception, but it’s also his best films and his most challenging film to date. It’s the kind of film you’ll want to go deeper in the rabbit hole, but that rabbit hole comes in the sub conscious.

A thief Dom Cobb (Leonard DiCaprio) spies on people’s dreams and stealing information from them. He cannot return to the United States from an accused murder of his wife (Marion Cotillard). He is offered an opportunity to return to his family from Saito for creating the program Inception; planting ideas into people’s subconscious and made those ideas their own. The target for Inception is a son of Saito’s corporate rival Maurice Fischer, Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy) which is his last rival of Saito’s corporation. He and his longtime colleague Arthur (Joseph Gordon Levitt) also hire recruits to help him on his mission, such as Eames and Ariadne (Tom Hardy and Ellen Page), which Ariadne also discovers a few secrets Cobb keeps to himself.

There is plenty going on here, offering surprises at every scene, but to get the best experience of this film is to not take it at face, but rather think about what makes these dreams work. The film’s structure of scenes that wouldn’t make sense in other films work as it functions on the logic of the mind set, not the realism of the world. It’s one of the rare commercial films that lets you savor the intense action and follow the linear storytelling, but lets you study its concepts and delve into its world; a puzzle within in fact, which allows the effects and scenes being more sensible than pretentious, and makes you awe in amazement. It really is awesome, both viscerally and intellectually.

I forgot to also mention
[Show spoiler]in my initial thoughts on the movie, I compared it to Shutter Island. The core story with DiCaprio's character seemed extremely similar at the time. I now think they are very much so different enough that they need not be compared. The ending especially reminded me of Shutter Island, but now I have a different perspective and think they are more different than similar.

I do not take much consideration with online polls. I tend to be more interested in studying the voters rather than what is being voted on. If a movie has a general consensus of 2/10, I feel confident it is probably bad. Other than that I do not really take much consideration.
