Not bad.

[Show spoiler] In my 2nd viewing I've come to the conclusion that was was dreaming at the end. Why? Because in Limbo he didn't have his Totum. Remember now they didn't want anybody touching there totum because something could happen. When Cobb planted the Idea in his wifes head he went and found the totum in the safe. He came up with the idea and planted it by spinning it. IMO.

Well Saito had the totum. He knew who he was when they started talking. He could have easily planted something in Cobb's mind with the totum. (He spun te toum too.) Don't know how they got out but both looked really shocked. Also when Cobb was going out of the airport everybody on the team incuding Fischer looked at him except Saito. Don't know if that part meant anything but thought it was something.

There was no way Saito was that powerful to erase what was going on with Cobb but he makes 1 call and thats that.

Saito planted an idea into Cobb's mind to make him think that he was ok and could see his kids.

Don't know if this has been mention or not. Didn't bother trying to read the last 5 pages.

Also Cillian Murphy IMO gave the best performance. From arrogant to scared or breaking down. The way he showed his emotions was awesome.
[Show spoiler]Well you see he didn't have a totem when he was in limbo with Mal because it was her idea to use a totem (he didnt have one) and therefore she still had it when they were in limbo, they both knew that when it keeps spinning they are in the dream world. Mal just chose to forget this as she wanted/believed that limbo was the reality, thats why she locked her totem away. Cobb then went looking for it because she hid it in her subconcious (which is symbolised by a safe in the film). He then just spins it so that she will come to realise that it isn't reality, which is how he convinces her to kill themselves. He didn't come up with the idea of if it keeps spinning then thats a dream. Mal came up with that before they were in limbo, he just implanted the idea that it isn't reality by incepting the idea in her subconcious and thus shutting the safe again.

Saito had the totem because his gaurd took it off Cobb with his gun, and Saito knew who Cobb was because he had seen him with the totem earlier, in the scene where he spins it and drops it on the floor, just after he tests the sedative.

As for the look they both give eachother, i think its a mixture of how far they both went when they were down in the 4th level, Saito grew to be an old man and Cobb searched for him and it looked like it took its toll on him. But i also think the look Cobb gave him was because he performed a leap of faith in Saito in that they were about to land and if he didn't make the call he would be in prison. But Saitos look before his call definatly showed amazement that Cobb came and found him after he died in the dream.

Well it hasn't had a lot of votes yet compared to the top 250. Once the haters show up it will go down. Though it really shouldn't.

Wow it was second once and then it was 83rd for awhile. I wouldn't put it in the top 10 just yet but I would definitely put it in the top 20.

Or once ppl realize that as great as it may be, it's not one of the greatest films of all-time, nor is TDK.

Still not sure how that Nolan film is #12 all time, about 9 spots too high for it, I think.

Im not a batman fan but i think TDK is surely in the top 20, the direction and acting was superb!

People dont want to admit TDK success just because its based off a comic. Well they made that comic REAL!!!!!

As much as I despise 3-D, I really wish this one would have had that option. That would've been insane.

I truley believe a film is made to entertain and sometimes bring fantasy and imagination to life, rather you're watching a mystical movie because you like the fantasy world, or an action thriller because you wish you were a Bad Azz

If a movie has a high replay value do its its entertainment then thats what makes it elite IMO. Now i dont know what your standards are for entertainment but INCEPTION surely hit my PLATEAU when it comes to entertaining me!

I don't know, as trippy and quick-paced as this movie was, I don't think it would've worked in 3D. Betcha if it does well enough, they'll go back and re-tool it for 3D anyway but it probably won't look that good. Oh and I'm a huge Batman fan myself, just sick of people acting like TDK is the the best comic book film ever.

Nolan did convert parts of Inception as a test for 3d, and he said he quite liked the look of it, but the guy doesn't exactly endorse 3d. I dont think we'll see this in 3d anytime soon, and im quite glad of that, because i think 3d would ruin it.

As for it being number 3 on imdb, it will go down im sure but this film is doing amazing business via word of mouth, people are seeing this and telling everyone they know about it, its going to do very very well. Damn im going back for the third time tommorow.

Then after awhile, Mal killed herself because she thinks she's still sleeping and dreaming. Now, what happens if she was right? That she is actually still alive and that the only reason she infrutrates Cobbs dreams is trying to "kick" him to the next stage of dreams so he can be closer to being truly awake. At the end, the kids never ever really aged at all and it seems CObb was away for while.
Watch the film again and you will see how wrong you really are. There is no way
[Show spoiler]that Cobb is dreaming in every scene we see him in during the film. His totem is a clear indication of that. If it was any level of dreaming, that top would keep spinning forever. We see it fall over several times. As for Mal continually showing up? She is a projection of his own guilt appearing to coax him back into limbo. That is Cobb's psyche trying to make him feel eternal punishment for having incepted his wife with the idea that killed her. He feels responsible. Anyone feeling that kind of guilt will try to lock it away. Eventually though, that guilt will surface somehow. Since he spends so much time working in the dreamscape, that is where it is most effective. There is no reason that the real Mal would keep attacking Ariadne if your theory is correct. Mal was described as a really nice person in real life. Why would she act like a projection? It just doesn't make any sense.

His ultimate goal was NOT
[Show spoiler]to go home. He is masking his need to confront and deal with his guilt by keeping himself occupied with the task of trying to get home to his children. If he had managed to get home to his children without confronting and rejecting Mal (his guilt) life would have still been unbearable and unfulfilling because he'd still be struggling with the guilt. So, Cobb, like a real human being, was fooling himself... and the viewers as well. Understanding the psychological workings of human emotion leans towards his ultimate goal being to resolve his guilt issues. Once that is done, it doesn't matter where he ends up. Someone haunted by that kind of guilt is able to feel like they have a new lease on life once they overcome the grief. The top at the end is meant to reflect the true purpose of the film, not to leave you guessing about Cobb's state of being (awake or asleep). It's a brilliant way of saying, "It doesn't really matter if the top stops or not. Our hero has conquered his inner demon, which is what the film is REALLY about."

That is an EXTREME reach of a theory.
[Show spoiler]Way too much information contradicting it. Saito obviously knew that he was going to be targeted for extraction. So, he decided to use that as a test for Cobb. All of this would have happened prior to the moment we enter the film of course. That is why some of the information was hidden better than what Cobb found. He needed something important enough to lure Cobb without compromising the integrity of his business. So, he turned the extraction into a test to see just how good Cobb really was. And, there is no way that Saito could have been responsible for planting Cobb's entire 50 years with Mal in limbo. THAT is how Cobb knows that inception is possible.

I'm sorry, but IN MY EYES your theory has so many holes in it that there is far less substance to it than empty space.

I think that it goes BEYOND that! I think that people are seeing it, telling others to go see it, AND THEN ARE GOING TO SEE IT AGAIN WITH THOSE PEOPLE THAT THEY TOLD ABOUT IT!

I'm having to watch myself very closely because I have about 6 different factions of people that I've told about it and I want to experience it with all of them! They all have different schedules. This could be very time consuming and expensive!
