Don just posted Chopping Mall on his cover photo on Facebook and he said he loves the movie
Maybe it is his was of saying he does have it, or its a red herring

Maybe Don is passively suggesting someone else (Scream Factory?) acquired Chopping Mall; but that the title he Facebooked about is so much better it trumphs even a personal favorite like Chopping Mall.

Thats also a great theory, but to license something from Lionsgate would be a major coo - Im leaning toward the red herring since I dont think Chopping Mall is in the league of Witchboard of Night of the Demons. It has a huge fanbase but to pass on those two films for Chopping Mall...

Maybe Synapse Films got the rights to some Hammer Horror classic.

Synapse Films has one expensive favorite in the works (whatever it is) but I am sure they have several other titles in development. Maybe Chopping Mall is a minor acquisitions coming soon separate from the emotional focus of the Facebook post.

Regarding Peeping Tom, that would be interesting but if the rights were avaliable I don't know why Criterion Collection would pass on Peeping Tom and it seems Synapse Films would be hard pressed to compete in a bid against Criterion (Janus Films appears to have more resources).

Don stated on Facebook (on Code Red's page) he signed two more movies in addition to the big one..
My guesses

Suspiria - this I feel is his big title
Chopping Mall
the Lost Empire

Sounds accurate. That said, in this case, I can only see Lost Empire as an extra on the Chopping Mall release. It just seems that it would be risky otherwise.

I'd love to see Synapse release a Blu of THE LOST EMPIRE.

Id be in for Suspiria but everything is just guesswork until something is announced. I never want to get worked up over possibilities that may not be there

Well, he's not taking any attention away from Code Red's Blu-ray announcements, as there aren't any!

That Code Red FB page is not official, and Bill does not post there. It's just a forum for collectors.

Awkward if it isn't Suspiria. This is why you should just announce the actual title rather than getting everyone worked up until they build it up into something bigger than it actually is.

That Tenebrae Steel from away looks terrific, plus a new transfer... I wish we had details on Synapse release so i could feel okay passing on the new import

it was only because of 2 or 3 individuals total. we're getting it back to normal, now that those members have been banned.

and by the way, Don popped in on one of our threads the other day to shut down Suspira talk. Not to say they definitely weren't doing it, but he thought it was pretty funny that people were talking like it was a fact.
