Sometimes the way they twist the language and verbiage to convey the trigger points without stating them outright and potentially triggering someone themselves can be pretty funny. For example, BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID might contain this one:

"Contains groin violence."

Or WAIT UNTIL DARK:

"Threatening sunglasses worn after sundown."

Or THUNDERBALL:

"Contains massively filled brassiere."

Hi everyone, so I have the UK Bond 50 boxset and really enjoyed all the films, obviously some more than others. It was my first time watching DR.No to Quantum Of Solace and I’m glad I took the gamble of buying this boxset. My introduction was Skyfall at the cinema with friends and I loved it and made me want to watch the others.

Anyway I noticed people in forums saying the mono/stereo soundtracks are superior to the 5.1 tracks and the US has all the films in mono.

Just a bit of advice.. is it worth me tracking down and importing a US Bond 50 or Ultimate James Bond Collection for the mono/stereo tracks?

Amazoncom has the Ultimate Collection for $69.86 & $39.95 shipping which comes to £109.81

Is there a vast improvement in sound viewing them in mono/stereo over the 5.1 that’s worth a repurchase?

Thanks

Hey DD,

In my opinion, no, it is not worth the upgrade, but that is to me. I wouldn't get enough from the difference at this point. Others will say otherwise of course but it comes down to your equipment and you most importantly.

Perhaps test a movie that you have both options and see what difference it makes to you.

The new, very expensive "James Bond. Dr. No" book published by TASCHEN:
https://www.taschen.com/en/limited-e...mes-bond-dr-no

Quote:
“Bond, James Bond.”

62 years, 25 films and 6 lead actors — but it all began with this iconic line from Sean Connery in Dr. No.

This iconic British character, conceived by author Ian Fleming in 1953, has captivated audiences worldwide as the world’s most famous secret agent in the history of cinema.

To tell the full story of how 007 began, EON Productions opened its archives of photos, designs, and production materials to TASCHEN. The result is this remarkable account of the making of Dr. No.

Director Terence Young debuted Dr. No in 1962, featuring Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder, Bernard Lee as M., Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No, and Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny.

The companion book provides a glimpse into the day-by-day account of what took place, which scenes were shot and who made the decisions that shaped the story and characters as it was filmed. Among the 1077 images, many rare and previously unpublished stills and on-set shots from photographers such as Bert Cann, Bunny Yaeger and Bradley Smith, as well as memos, documents, posters, and production designs.

James Bond: Dr No is published by Taschen on 1 March

That's the deluxe edition in the slip case.
Taschen charges £1,500.00 = $1,900.00 converted.
The standard hardcover costs £750.00 = $988.00 converted.

Not sure you needed to quote the entire previous post before making that point, bub.

I hope you were not injured or otherwise
damaged beyond the obvious by the quote
function.

The quote did come out rather large.
I went back in and hid it behind spoilers.

Only one tiny quibble, your discs are chronological, I respect that. However, NSNA came out before AVTAK, not after it.
