They're reissued these BDs 10,000 times, in various standalone or bundled editions, with various covers. But for all the pre-Craig films, the discs are identical every time. It gets confusing for the Craig-era films, because they've switched distributors. Casino Royale had an OOP 2-disc SE from Sony, with unique bonus features, and a different transfer of the film, I believe. I own that one. I think the other Craig BDs are all identical, but I could be wrong there. |

That's true in any given territory, but not between territories. The original audio is only available on the US discs for the first wave of films that were released on Blu, it was removed for the overseas discs.

Keep in mind the Bond 50 set and the black box set have a bonus disc, each having similar and differing extras:
Both include: "World of Bond": - "Title Sequences" openings for all 22 movies (62:32) - "Gadgets" featurette (with optional 'Shot by Shot' list - 3:03) - "Villains" featurette (with optional 'Shot by Shot' list - 2:22) - "Bond Girls" featurette (with optional 'Shot by Shot' list - 1:24) - "Locations" featurette (with optional 'Shot by Shot' list - 1:40) - "Bond in Motion" featurette (1:43) "Being Bond" featurette (3:08) "Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style" featurette (4:01) Bond 50 also includes: "Skyfall videoblogs" featurettes (10:51): - "'Skyfall' Behind the Scenes" (1:51) - "Sam Mendes" (1:28) - "Naomie Harris" (1:09) - "Bérénice Marlohe" (1:12) - "Production Update from Shanghaï" (1:35) - "Danni Gassnes Takes us Inside the Look of 'Skyfall'" (1:58) - "Jany Temime on Dressing 007 for Action" (1:54) The black box also includes: "The Story So Far" featurette (10:22) "The Shadow of Spectre" featurette (8:41) "Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007" documentary (97:59) So yeah, fun... |

Here’s where it really gets fun. Between all the films, there’s probably at least 20 hours of content left stranded on the many VHS, laserdisc, and DVD releases that came before the Blu-rays. I lost a list in a computer crash that had every home video release up to 2006, and I had at least 20 hours of special features that were nowhere to be found on my white case Blu-ray set.
And yes most of the pre-Craig official films have had one Blu-ray that has just been repackaged dozens of times. The only exception I can find is Goldeneye, which initially had an awful disc that was waxed to all hell, but was quietly remastered several years ago. The Craig films have had several different Blu-ray discs each, with the exception of NTTD. There might actually be more Blu-ray discs of the Craig movies than all other Bond films combined, which says less about how much they can bring to the table (I mean seriously, how many copies of Casino Royale 06 do we need?) and more about how many times they could get people to buy the same movie. I also find it ironic that (with the exception of NTTD) the films with native 4K transfers are stuck on Blu-ray, while the films on UHDs all have 2K DIs. |

There’s a new master for Goldeneye on streaming. I don’t think it has made it to disc. The Blu-Ray as I understand it is disappointing.

I am very surprised none of the original 20 have been released on 4KBD yet. These are a big seller for MGM/UA and perhaps it's just Amazon wants to milk it on streaming for all it's worth. Amazon has the time, money and resources to pull quality sources and do it up right too.

It makes no sense to me as to why Amazon wouldn't pay to remaster these for 4KBD. It seems like there is money to be made especially with all the old movies coming out on 4KBD. Now would be the time to do it. Amazon has the time and resources to do it right. |

As for Goldeneye, there were rumors for years about a remastered Blu-ray, with most saying there was only one disc. Considering the first disc was similar to Predator, I was actually shocked to see the grain on the transfer. It wasn’t that heavy, just a light veneer of grain. (This isn’t shocking considering this was sourced from the negative; barring a stylistic move where the negative has heavy grain, there’s usually very little grain with a negative but it’s still there.) As someone who has this remastered disc, I can confirm that Goldeneye has two Blu-ray discs. |

I have the BD that came in the first Bond 50 set in 2012, that didn't include Skyfall. I believe that was the first ever BD of GoldenEye, which got a standalone release a week later. Is that the bad early one? I'd gladly rebuy GoldenEye if there's a superior disc out there. |
