I don't think so. However, I do think that Scarpine (the character played by Patrick Bauchau) might have been as he seemed pretty tight with Zorin and Mortner.

Finished my 24 movie Bond watching. Really enjoyed them all overall! Took me about a week and a half and it’s interesting watching them all back to back. I think the Connery movies mostly still hold up the best. The Moore movies not so much. Dalton was really underrated. Lazenby’s sole movie was good and would have liked to have seen more of him and Dalton. Brosnan was pretty decent. Craig is great for the most part. Can’t wait for Bond 25 !

I like A View to A Kill. I've got to say that Quantum of Solace is probably my least favorite. It had horrible editing and seemed very choppy at time during action scenes. And the villain and plot was pretty weak with the hoarding water scheme.

Yeah, in Quantum I liked Daniel Craig...but I agree with the editing and plot that you mentioned. I was honestly confused with some of the movie’s plotting. It’s definitely my least favorite of Craig’s movies.

Other than Chinatown, anytime the plot is about water you know you're in trouble.

My favourite Moore is actually "For Your Eyes Only". Apart from the music (which is rather dated) I quite how the movie is more grounded. Plus, it has Julian Glover in it.

True, but she wasn't very good at it...and her smile and wink at Bond during the attempt is very winning.

Besides, a beautiful woman trying to kill him is just another day at the office for Bond...

Huh?
The only similarity is the villain using a vehicle to "swallow" a Soviet and American vehicle. SPECTRE did it to start a war between the powers who thought the other did it. In SPY the villain did it to steal the subs to launch nuclear missiles at each other.

Harm's way? If they resurfaced you think she would have let them get away? They couldn't stay down there forever.

Lowest, cringiest moments in Bond history, imo?

TMWTGG - Bond kicks entrepreneur Taiwanese child out of boat, though most will probably say the slide whistle
LOLD - Bond makes villain eat a gas thingy, he inflates (a very very bad effect) floats into the air and explodes (dummy looks nothing like Koto and it all seems wrong). This is also the movie where Bond takes some poor girl's virginity while dealing with heroin, my least liked 007 adventure. Baron is cool tho
YOLT - Bond gets turned Japanese by hunching over and wearing a Spock wig
Die Another Day - almost the entire film
TWINE - The Christmas line
OHMSS - The chicken phobic woman

opinions?

This scene always made me laugh - you're right, it's one of those instances where the special effects were so bad it's actually quite funny. I think that's where Bond also says "he always had an inflated opinion of himself", or words to that effect.

Die Another Day is a Bond movie that I am going to rewatch again pretty soon to see if my opinion on it at all changes. I have a poor opinion of it currently, as I remember an ice castle, an invisible car, way too much use of CGI, Bond surfing, a terrible Madonna song and the threat of a Halle Berry spinoff series as "Jinx".

For Your Eyes Only - the Margaret Thatcher scene.

The Kananga death scene in Live and Let Die is monumentally bad. What's funny is that Solitaire asks Bond "Where's Kananga?" to which he responds "He always did have an inflated opinion of himself", not even bothering to actually answer her question, though maybe she was confused because despite literally exploding, there aren't pieces of bone or viscera or blood anywhere. They really should have just had Kananga be eaten by one of the sharks or something.

The shame of it is that the first half of that movie ain't bad at all. Some good stunts, good Brosnan lines, a bit of a different feel, stunning Bond ladies, etc. Then it just totally craps the bed in the second half. Every time I watch it I'm like "this is better than I remembered" for the first half and then "oh..." for the second.

Anyway my cringiest Bond moments would probably be Sheriff Pepper's return in The Man with the Golden Gun plus slide whistle and the beach boys opening from A View to a Kill. Live and Let Die never really bothered me, I guess because I love blaxploitation movies and see it as just an extension of that.

Cringe-worthy Bond moments:

DR. NO: "Fetch my shoes."
GOLDFINGER: "That's as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs."
OCTOPUSSY: Clown disguise, Tarzan yell, "Sit!"
A VIEW TO A KILL: "California Girls" , which is rendered even worse by having it being a cover band version...

It feels like it belongs in a ZAZ film.
