I'd say that Steven Jay Rubin would be the original source of both of these movements, but I could be wrong.

Incidentally, I too put both of these films in my top 5 Bond.

You know, I must have seen that at least a half dozen times at the movies in the Summer of 1989. I had a friend who used to joke with me and tell me I was single handedly trying to make the film hit the number one spot! For me, it was the Casino Royale of it's day. But I guess most people were still in a Roger Moore state of mind. I love most of the Moore films but after A View To A Kill, I was ready for a change. One of the dirty little secrets is that it was considered a flop. Yes, it didn't do well in the US but worldwide it actually beat the worldwide gross of A View To A Kill. I wish Dalton could have done more Bond films but it was not meant to be. Still, I love the two films that Dalton did. I even have a Living Daylights poster hanging on my wall along with some Licence To Kill UK lobby cards. I think it's safe to say I'm a fan of the Dalton era of Bond!

I lament the fact that Dalton's stint was cut so short, he was really good and LTK is fantastic. If it wasn't for that damn court case, he could've made two more in '91 and '93 and Brosnan could still have taken over when he did. The Moore era did get too silly and it seems with Brosnan people still wanted that lighthearted approach, for a while anyway until DAD came along.

Yeah, Dalton is my personal favorite Bond. I've honestly enjoyed every Bond actor (although Craig had to grow on me a bit) and think they'll all brought something unique to the part, but Dalton is still my favorite. I would have loved to seen him make at least a couple more.

Yes, I know what you mean...I am a HUGE Bond fan & I hope my impulses don't get the better of me Tuesday. This 4th quarter is already getting expensive and it is just beginning! They could of done even a tad better on these steels.

On another note, Bond 50 was never meant to be a "definitive" Bond box set. It celebrates 50 years of Bond.

Please don't take this the wrong way because this is a legitimate question. Could you please tell me why you would double dip because of DC's? I'm trying to understand the value of DC's because I just sell mine.

Yes I think you're right that they wouldn't make a new disc for one movie to include EoN. Hopefully it is still in there somewhere. Overall this release seems a bt confusing with the two versions and not a whole lot of info. Hopefully come Tuesday we'll know exactly what each set contains.

Well, the complete collection is a WAY better package than that Bond 50 disaster. I DESPISE sleeves. Disc Hubs > *.

Anyone know where to get the Brosnan set? There doesn't seem to be any info on that...?

Question Which set?

Anyone know what the hell is going on with these sets? Amazon has been back and forth with both the Ultimate and Complete Collections. I'd like just the Complete if it actually includes digital copies, but now it seems like only the Ultimate is available (for $299 in the US. No way!) Walmart and BB have the Complete set listed for a SD of 9.15, like it should be on Amazon.

There's no point in releasing a "complete" Bond set. James Bond will never be "complete." If the franchise has gone on for 50 years, it will surely go on for another 50 years. Until then, I hope I live long enough to purchase the 100th Anniversary Bond set.

The only purpose I see in buying this is if the films aren't owned already. Which is true for me. I only own the Craig movies.

I watched Everything or Nothing when it was on Netflix. It was okay, but I found it to be a lot fluffier than the Inside 007 docs and commentaries already on the Blu-Rays. Definitely a one and done. Plus, it laid the Broccoli / Saltzman love on a little too thick for me. I love the Bond movies, but don't get much out of the endless stories from Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli about how Saltzman / Broccoli cured cancer and saved the world.

Where's the documentary about Cubby Broccoli and Ted Healy? I'd watch that one...
You think $110 US is a good price? Amazon.ca is selling it for $94.99 CDN, which would be about $72 US.

If they had released all the films in steelbook, that would have been very tempting. I really like the opening title designs on them, but only releasing nine of them with no promise that the rest of the series will be released in this form turns me off from them completely.

It's only supposed to be the films that feature SPECTRE (or more specifically Blofeld because Dr. No isn't included, yet For Your Eyes Only is even though "Blofeld's" appearance is a bit of a joke), so don't count on them ever releasing the others like this. Unless they sell like hotcakes and they might think it worth doing the others, but I doubt that.

That's so dumb. What's the point? I don't know what the hell these studios are thinking sometimes.

I still have my 4-volume DVD set and plan on keeping them forever. The boxes are sturdy as heck, are compact and look better than ANYTHING that's been released so far. Not to mention they contain slim cases for each film - none of that slot nonsense. I swapped the DVD discs for Blu-rays for most of the films. Die Another Day, Quantum of Solace and The World Is Not Enough are not worthy of upgrades IMO so they will remain DVDs in my collection. BTW, I read that the upcoming Spectre is another continuation of a previous storyline, as was QoS. I think this trend of sequelizing the Bond films is a stupid idea. We have to wait 3 years between new Bond films - I want to see a different storyline, not the same one. My anticipation levels for new entries gets lower with each new film

I would assume the point is to promote the previous adventures featuring SPECTRE as a tie-in to the new movie. But, like I said, you never know what their thinking is and they could possibly release the other titles later on down the road, it's just that they're focusing on promoting the Blofeld ones now.

I saw the white box for the complete set and there was no mention of digital anywhere on it. The different Bond actor collections however did mention digital. Looks I'll be buying the individual collections instead of the complete set.
