Would make sense since the Black Friday prices on some of these are obscenely low.

The Black Friday prices on most movies are pretty low but they don't make discs especially for Black Friday unless specifically noted.

Fox is already in the habit of releasing movie-only discs for Walmart, wouldn't shock me if they just gave those same discs to all retailers in new packaging. Only thing that sucks is that the backs list all the bonus features, no? And it's only certain (unpopular) ones that are like $3.99. I was gonna pick up Casino Royale for the DC but that's still $7.99 (and sold out everywhere around me, apparently).

The back catalogue of Bond films has always been priced quite low, even the box set when you divide the price by the number of films included works out to be quite low, so I wouldn't worry that any insanely cheap deals on any Bond films during BF are somehow a barebones, movie-only version. Most of the features are carry overs from the DVD releases from 15-16 years ago anyway.

So the Ultimate set will hit $120 tonight (BBY), might nab it now that I missed the $100 deal. Maybe Amazon might best Best Buy and offer it at $100 lol

I can't speak for any of the other films but I can confirm the newest release of Skyfall (that had movie money for Spectre) was a barebones disc. It had no special features or commentaries even though they were listed on the back.

I almost bit on Amazon's exclusive set when it hit $114 (it went down to $99 at one point) but decided against it after watching a youtube unboxing. Love the poster booklet but not the cheap cardboard packaging. I'm still the proud owner of those 4-volume Circuit City DVD sets in the sturdy foil boxes (I've replaced the DVDs with BDs) and have been looking for a suitable replacement for consolidation purposes but haven't been impressed with anything so far. MGM will milk this series indefinitely so they're bound to come up with something worth double dipping for someday.

Those were nice DVD sets with nice booklets. I regret selling them when I got the Bond 50 BD collection.

Not sure why you think those boxes were Circuit City exclusives. They were sold everywhere. I have the UK metal briefcase for the first 20 Bonds. I haven't seen any Bond sets come close to packaging that good since (of course, that was the only set made and released by Sony, which might have something to do with it).

So are there any differences between the following two US editions of the box set:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/136233/
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/140034/
(The former has an 'Amazon Eclusive' tag, but both appear to be the same)

and the UK edition?:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/136389/

Thinking of selling my (pre-Skyfall) Bond 50 collection & upgrading to this if all that i'm missing is the Skyfall behind the scenes promos on the Bond 50 bonus disc.

The UK disc for Quantum of Solace is locked to Region-B, and the following films don't have their original sound mixes available:

Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only and Licence To Kill.

If anybody is still on the fence and looking for a good deal, Amazon.ca is selling the "exclusive" black Ultimate set (films and digital HD codes) for $99.99 CAD; the exchange rate is very favourable to Americans, despite the shipping charges.

Got it! Thanks again! Wanted something that would sit on my bluray shelf, not sit on the side. I'll list my James Bond 50 on eBay.
