Runtime

nah.

Studio > Alphabetical > Sequels (Live Free or Die Hard after Die Hard with a Vengeance for example)

This makes the collection look better, alphabetical makes it look like a some one threw up on the shelves.

Ascending alphabetical. Concerts are segregated, as are boxed sets.

except for some special categories (unseen- which includes movies I have seen but not from that disk, fancy boxes that I don't want destroyed, movies that where not filmed to be seen in English- which I call international but that includes French Canadien, TV series, a bit too much nudity or some sex scenes, and some collections like Saw and JB) the rest are by Genre or sub genre (like sci-fi, comic book/toys based movies, war, action, horror….). Within a category they are alphabetical (except for the fancy packages)

First by number then by Alphabetical**

**Except in a series, then the series will be in order

For example, when the POTC Trilogy starts according to the Alphabetical sort, I put them in chronological order, not alphabetical. Once the series is over, alphabetical categorization continues.

i.e.

Pinocchio
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Although this would be first if only going alphabetically)
Pitch Black

I've tried organizing my BDs alphabetically yesterday and it's not working out well. Because guess what? The first movie in my collection is my Bourne Trilogy. Since all three movies are in a thick box, I have to pull out all three movies in order to watch one. Well, when I pull out the box, all my 40+ movies fall and lean to left. Crazy, I know. So what I did was I left my movies alphabetically, but my box sets need to be at the very end so nothing gets affected when i remove them from the shelf. So, everything is still in alphabetical order...it's just that my Bourne and Spider-Man sets have to stay at the end. It's the best I can do.

crazyBLUE, why don't you just break down and buy a bookshelf? Unless you think that if you bought one that it would be one or two less blu-rays you wouldn't be buying. Target actually has some pretty decent ones for under $30 and Walmart even less.

For me, I have two bookshelves and while my blu-rays only occupy a shelf and a half, the rest of the space is filled with DVD sets.

At any rate, I have my library by alphabetical order, that way I can find the movie very fast as to what I want to watch. I never understand the reasoning behind the genre or studio listing because there aren't too many people who can remember what studio made what movie.

Just wish TV Shows on Blu-ray were a bit more affordable. Most TV shows costs upwards of $70 or more. I only have one television show, Firefly, on Blu-ray, and I'm thinking of picking up the originial Prisoner TV series on Blu-ray as soon as I have some spare cash.

Alphabetical by title except for Disney/Pixar and the Bond films. I also file Digi-books under D in with my box sets because they are taller than most box sets.

Maybe this has been said but I hate it when people call them BRs. Nitpicking yes, but it drives me nuts.

BRs is not the preferred nomenclature, BDs, please.

numerical titles first lowest number to highest, then A-Z. That is how I arrange my BDs.

Something like that. I don't really do any alphabetizing though.
