I'm about to graduate from Grad School, and I don't have a job yet. So it's good to know that I have a bit of a nest egg with my copies of Apt Pupil, Evil Dead with Bonus DVD, Criterion Man Who Fell to Earth, and Criterion Pierrot le fou.

Same here, and considering The New World has already had 3 cuts, there's no guarantee which one (or ones) Criterion will go with. Not selling off that old Blu of the "Extended" version just yet.

This one?

If so, awesome film. I think it was a day one for me.

Re: Hardware

Severin has put things "OOP" before as a gimmick to move copies, and then they mysteriously come back. And considering they are issuing Dust Devil soon, and also a documentary on Richard Stanley, I bet they're just going to reissue Hardware at the same time, possibly in a box-set, or with different packaging, etc. Still, "Hardware" is a terrific film so buy it now anyway if you don't have it already.

Yeah, I don't think there are any guarantees at this point. It just might not be worth the cost for these small independents to do an additional run of these titles—especially when the big studios have drastically slowed the pace of catalog releases. If it's cheap, get it while you can, or you will probably kick yourself later.

You can also import Hardware from the UK. I have that version and it's a fantastic set. FYI

It appears that the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet (UK) may have gone OOP. Mind boggling and a complete shame if it has this soon. One of my favorite films. It is still available from other countries.

The Evil Dead with bonus disc is worth something? Isn't that identical to the disc included with the necronomicon style DVD release?

Yeah, that edition contains the special features on the bonus DVD. Not sure whether it is simply the same disc from the DVD release, but probably so...

I was hoping that they would release this in the U.S. I hope we don't have to wait until 2018 for a 50th anniversary.

It's most of the stuff from the Ultimate Edition set, which is spread over 3 discs there, on a new disc here. No new content and some stuff is missing, so if you have the UE dvd set it's redundant. None of the "Book of the Dead" version features are on it either. I think the only reason it has any value is cuz Evil Dead fans want something else to collect, and it was/is kinda scarce.

I'm amazed at how many countries this has been released in, and yet the US has thus far been excluded. After the initial wave of releases, I figured a US disc wasn't looking promising, so I eventually ordered the UK version. Hopefully it does eventually see a release here.
