Is Smokey in the Bandit OOP? It seems to be very high on eBay and most other places I look.

Wouldn't be surprised if Universal issues a remaster this year for the 40th anniversary.

Probably just out of stock. Drafthouse Films sells this on their own as a 3rd party through Amazon, and they've gone out of stock and later replenished it like 3 or 4 other times.

Will hope it stays reasonable until I get paid on March 3rd. Hearing this got me off the fence about wanting it or not. I was able to grab some oop titles with my Feb. check. I picked up.....

Saturday Night Fever-4.97
Staying Alive (DVD)-3.99
Escape From Alcatraz (All Region Import)-13.50
Congo-7.97
Kiss The Girls-7.97
Hatari!-10.99
Serpico-14.32
Along Came A Spider-8.11
El Dorado-10.85
World Trade Center-8.09
Jennifer 8 (From Canada)-19.98
How The West Was Won-11.27
------------

I've saved.....

Wayne's World 1&2
Galaxy Quest
Major League

for this month, as it seemed these would either stay low in price longer, or be reprinted.

I see there is also an Arrow version of "Audition" that is region B. I have a region free player, but would still rather have the "Shout" version if the price stays reasonable on Amazon.

But it is a bummer if you know Crichton's book. It reads like the greatest adventure/techno thriller movie of all time. John Patrick Shanley (who I admire a great deal) didn't take a single concept in it seriously and Frank Marshall was not a sophisticated enough director to make a genuinely good film in spite of that.
I read all of Crichton's books in high school and I did love the Congo book. The movie captures none of it, but like I always preach in comic book movie threads you have to take movies as their own thing. Congo the movie is a campy fun b-movie with an a-level budget and actors, which is a good time.

A Touch of Evil (Limited Edition) seems to be OOP. Picked it up for $6 the other week and it has only been available at the Amazon marketplace since then.

I wish Deathstalker would get a re-print. I only knew about it after it finished it's run and I was really hoping at some point I could upgrade.

That's a good approach. It reminds me back in college when someone asked the English Lit professor his favorite movies; the guy was straight up and admitted he's mostly into fast paced popcorn blockbusters and doesn't watch a lot of drama or Criterion styled films. It was kind of refreshing to hear an academic type not put on a phony elitist act.

Crichton is and always will be my favorite author. It's a shame that none of the movies that his novels are based on them are as good as the book itself.

Yes, but I was more disappointed in Jurassic Park, I really enjoyed the book (well the first one anyway), but I thought the film should have been a lot darker, but it made a few bob so what do I know. I also thought Timeline was crap & I really quite enjoyed the book.

I wonder if this means the Arrow release will make it stateside? Maybe it was picked up as part of a package with all of the other Mike titles they've been releasing?
