It would appear that the old 20th Century Fox release of Kiss of the Dragon is currently OOP.

A new edition is dropping on May 5th though.

Brand new cover or finally BD50 instead of BD25? That font choice is very lazy.

Your guess is as good as mine. Notice the spine though? Looks like the new edition is coming from Anchor Bay... I can't imagine it being any worse than the initial release. I have a hard time thinking I'll spring for the double dip, but maybe one day when prices are ridiculously low on ebay. I've always liked the film.

This is not a new edition. It's the same blu-ray release, but with a different cover artwork.

Does this mean it's not really OOP anymore? I know it was supposed to be limited to 10K or some huge number like that. Maybe they did press them all!
Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but the flick was fun. Anyone who missed out should still go get it for fun now that the second chance has arrived.

Just received Equilibrium from CDJapan.com today, so I guess it's not OOP.

Yes it is, but it is worth the money. This movie has been released in North America 5 times and every release is botched. I know people say that the 6-pack that Echo Bridge released is the best version due to the correct AR and the DTS 5.1 Lossless track, but the movie is only 15GB in size, so the movie is compressed. I had some extra money to burn due to a nice tax refund, so I finally decided to pull the trigger. I watched it today and it is everything I hoped for and then some. Totally worth the $40.

Nice.
Funny for the JP 2-Disc L.A. Confidential I waited literally 6 years for it to lower in price before I bought it. Of course it was very high up in my priority but for Equilibrium, I'm not entirely sure what entry I have it for for my collection priority though. But other Japanese releases are higher up.

This release is being issued by Anchor Bay and Not 20th Century Fox. Wouldn't that be considered a different release? Even if the disk itself is the same, it's not different than the Miramax collections that Lionsgate bought up and resissued. It's still technically a different release. Why would you think this is the same release with a new cover, was it announced somewhere that it was? It seems unlikely in my mind for it to be exactly the same since Anchor Bay is now associated with it.

That sucks, I never got around to picking it up because Olive titles are always round $20 for mostly barebones releases

Just went to get Last of the Mohicans and noticed Amazon has no copies and all the "fulfilled by Amazon" sellers want $30 for it. Independent sellers still have it for around $10 though. Not sure that means anything but thought I would mention it.

Same here. Even better, there has been a copy sitting in a used store for months, maybe a year, but they want $19 for it used! I think it dropped to $18 last I saw, but it mocks me everytime I go to that store. I asked about it and got a "that's what it is" reply, and they don't barter once price tags have been placed.
