Got lucky again and found a used copy of Troop Beverly Hills for $12.99 and a new copy of Spaced Invators for $9.99 at Movie Trading Company in Frisco, TX.

It shouldn't be. Perhaps it's just going to be awhile until more discs get made since the last U.S. plant closed & everything's been moved to a plant in Mexico.

So crazy that the Friday the 13th collection would go either OOP or with a long gap between distribution during October.

Doubly super crazy that the 10-disc Halloween collection has slipped into the same situation, and with a new movie coming out.

All the Halloween movies are available in single editions, and they're owned by a bunch of different companies, so it's not that odd really.

I still see the Halloween Blu-Ray 10 Pack at local Best Buys and Walmarts might not show as in stock online but always good to check out stores.

I saw two or three copies of the Friday the 13th set at my local Walmart this weekend and if I remember correctly it was under $30.

likely the Halloween set will be re-issued when the new movie comes to Blu. pretty standard thing that gets done for franchise movies.

Especially since the movie is tracking to open at 60+ million.

I just would have thought, if they have any control over when it's issued, the set would sell the best during October and just before theatrical release of the new one rather than selling well alongside the new film's video release in, like, February probably.

I don't see why Anchor Bay would consciously and strategically let it lapse at this time of all times, after four years on the shelf, if they didn't have to.

This isn't me arguing that it should be on the OOP list, by the way. I just, um, will be floored and confused if they start printing them again in a couple months.

Anchor Bay just released the first Halloween film (which the new one is a direct sequel to) on 4K blu-ray and released the first one in a steel book at FYE. They only have the rights to 1, 4, and 5 so they can't release a series set. It makes sense to release the first one now so that people can watch it before seeing the new one. Releasing thr others at a later date would work for the series but not necessarily for the new film.

They haven't had the license for years, it just didn't sell out until now. Eventually it would've sold out, but likely the new movie was what finally pushed those last few copies out to more casual buyers.

Iiiii see. I just, obviously, don’t know enough how all the this works. I really didn't see that they could have so much made, to provide stock for so long, without pressing more. I've been imagining that if something is regularly available on retail shelfs then they must be printing them as sales numbers dictate.

They printed a ton of them, basically.

I wouldn't bet on a new set coming anytime soon. Scream getting Universal and Anchor Bay to work together with them was a tough nut to crack, and now that Lionsgate control those movies it would be even tougher. I'd bet more heavily on seeing UHD releases from their individual studios.

I hope the Friday the 13th set isn't OOP. I mean, I own the first two movies and then the double features, but I hate to see stuff go OOP. This series should always be a money maker and so I don't understand how it can go OOP again while the Nightmare collection stays in print after several years.

btw, the prices on this set have now skyrocketed on ebay and other places.

I see the set is available on other retailer websites for the normal price of $27 to $30.

It looks like Dracula season 1 blu-ray is going OOP. Prices are jacked on Amazon (only available from resellers as well), eBay, and I can’t find any copies on other sites like FYE, Bullmoose, DeepDiscount, B&N, Target, Walmart (save for one reseller/marketplace copy prices at $99), you name it. I even called a local media store chain that will transfer copies free of charge from their other stores to your local store and they had none in the system. Between this and Big Fat Liar blu-ray seemingly going OOP, I’m sad and regret not getting both sooner.

Let me note though that Dracula season 1 is on sale for $9.99 on Vudu in HD right now and I think I’m just gonna resort to that.

Anyone know the status of Don Bluth’s Rock-A-Doodle?

Seems to be creeping up in price, and I only see it being sold by 3rd parties on Amazon and Wal-Mart. Best Buy carries it only on their website for $19.99 currently. Vintage Stock/ Movie Trading Company is sold out of New and Used copies.

I got mine from a 3rd party on amazon.ca a week or two ago but only because it was over $10 cheaper than amazon's selling price. Looks like amazon.ca is still selling it themselves though.
