I was reading this thread earlier and saw the talk about The Road. I was lucky enough to find a copy earlier today at Half Price Books for $7.99.

Is showing signs that it is out of print. The standard edition of the triple feature is still in print.

Maybe Kino or the Criterion Collection will snap it up after.

Wow, it was only in print for 18 months. That seems strange.

Glad I picked it up when it came out.

It's already out of stock at Amazon, except for third-party copies.

Amazon hasn't consistently carried Olive titles for quite some time, so that in and of itself isn't unusual.

Best to always check Olive's website store on their "OOP" titles,'
They are selling Wedding Banquet through the end of the month.

Thanks for the heads-up. Snagged a copy of this one at Target on the way home from work. I must have seen Grease 2 something like fifty times on VHS growing up, and I'm glad to have it and Grease on BD/digital now.

If anybody wants a digital copy of Grease Live from paramountmovies dot com you can use 4R7YRRERLPRF

Yeah I'm fine with the older Blu Ray of Grease but I really wish I could find a copy of Grease 2. I can't justify buying the set for $25 - $30 when all I really want is one disc as I have no interest in the Grease Live feature and am satisfied with my existing copy of the first film. Glad you were able to find a copy of the locker set though.

I hear you, man. I didn't have a copy of Grease yet though, so I guess it makes it a slightly better value to get 2 movies + 2 digital codes for that 25-30.

Smells like MGM's distribution rights (inherited from The Samuel Goldwyn Company) are expiring and Olive's video lease is going down with it. I have a feeling it's going under Ang Lee's ownership or the Chinese producers, but since Criterion has an interest for his titles I assume they'll put it out again in the future.

For those who are curious about this title now and don't want to fork up later, it's streaming for free on TubiTV and also available to purchase in HD on Vudu ATM.

I participated in Movie Trading Company’s B2G1 sale today and found some OOP stuff. Many thanks to this thread for keeping me updated.

Django (BU): 9.99
The Road: 5.99
kiss of the Dragon (Fox): free

I did find a unopened but sold as used copy of Hard Rain for 7.99 last week.

don't forget that the new blu-ray for Grease also features the original sound track which is considerably different at times from the SE soundtrack that the earlier blu-ray release has, so even if you don't mind the sepia tone older blu (not that either quite looks right, the old blu has a dingy sepia 90s tone and a lot of sharpening applied but the new one has too much DNR at times and is sometimes a bit overcooked (the new UHD doesn't overcook as often and the grain is retained in a few more scenes compared to the new blu), there is still this major change

I would happily purchase the triple feature for around $10 - $15. Any more than that though and I just don't care. If I'm being honest I only watched my original Blu Ray this last Saturday despite having owned it for the last 3 years and even that only cost me $2.50 as it was part of the double pack with Saturday Night Fever for $5.

I like Grease but it's a film that sits outside of my normal movie wheelhouse and so I am not all that concerned about the best possible presentation, rather just a good presentation as its not a film I will revisit but once every few years. As I mentioned before... I'd really just like to own a copy of Grease 2.

Grease 2 is available from Germany. Region free and about $13 shipped to the U.S. from Amazon.

If you can find it locally at a Target, the triple feature (the one posted that's going OOP) is $16.99 I believe. I bought it during the B2G1 free Target deal. Some people misplace the copies and put them randomly throughout the movies section.

Hmm.. I'll have to look again. I know I had seen it months ago but don't remember seeing it during any of my recent visits. That price isn't too bad so I'd certainly consider it. Thanks as well!

Looks like Contact with Jodie Foster might be OOP, it's unavailable at Amazon (except from third=party sellers) and sold out at WBshop, though it's still in stock at Best Buy, for now.

Seems like a few older Warner titles seem to be going OOP - this, Conspiracy Theory...

Another Warner OOP title to add the list:

The Avengers (1998)

Not sure if this Warner title is OOP or between pressings:

The Time Machine (1960)

It is sold out at all major retailers and shown as backordered on WBshop.
