I really dodged a bullet last week when I added it to my Caged Heat/Jackson County Jail order to get free shipping.

Wasn't Shout's Mad Max Blu their best seller of all time or something? Odd they would let it go OOP if it were the case. It has a 4k HDR master already completed and they could've done a Remastered BD+UHD combo pack like with Deer Hunter and it would be an easy seller.

The Fox distribution deal with MGM expired in June, and it seems titles released by other labels that were done during that agreement are going OOP and aren't being renewed for some reason. Only other thing I could think of is another label wants Mad Max and MGM won't let Shout renew.

Was it really? Because I've seen it everywhere. I actually saw this as recently as within the last year or so in one of the bins at Walmart. I kept passing it up lol and now it's going OOP. I just assumed it was in abundance because I've seen it go low on sale on multiple sites and a few stores. Guess I was wrong!

Maybe its low sale prices and availability are why it's been a bestseller?

Could it have to do with the fact that Netflix and Apple are eyeing to purchase MGM. Maybe they want to have all of their licenses back for the sale? It would be terrible either way, and could be the end of physical media as we see it, especially with Disney/Fox pretty much giving up on UHDs.

Yes, I saw someone mentioning this in the Miramax thread (for Hellraiser, Halloween and Kevin Smith sets) but I can't find any listings.
The search option on Amazon US never works for me since quarantine... I don't know why but I can't seem to find pre-order listings since then.

Not all that long though, it went out of stock on Amazon on or near 17 July.

Amazon finds old stock all of the time. It doesn't mean it wasn't long sold out when it pops up, it just means they somehow found extra somewhere. I've seen long OOP titles randomly pop up. For example, not long before Arrow Video announced The Woman was coming, Amazon put up brand new copies of the long OOP original blu-ray released by Bloody Disgusting. It's just how Amazon operates sometimes.

What???? I'm so in for Hellraiser and the Kevin Smith sets. I would buy another Halloween set if it includes a digital code for any movies past 1 and 2.

I never thought Jackie Brown would ever be released again from a major studio (guess you can never count QT out). Many of the others are moderate surprises too, considering the Lionsgate catalog of Oscar winners and some very popular titles.

Well, you're not wrong, but I had the American Werewolf LTD ED in my shopping cart for months and it remained available the entire time (I pretty much checked every day), up until I finally decided to order it on July 17th... then it was no longer available, and I received my copy a few days later. That's why I'm so certain in this case.

Ok... even so, it is now officially long gone... buh-bye AAWIL

Oh, and why wait so long for such an epic release? You must like playing with dynomite
