seems fit for a re-release (does anchor bay still put out discs?)
Anchor Bay doesn't exist. They are defunct.

I think it's a very good movie, I wish I had the disc, but because of the circumstances surrounding the movie, I wouldn't expect it to get a re-release. Maybe in another country, like "Apt Pupil", but I've always gotten the impression that other countries don't have much of an audience for American football.

Looks like both seasons of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency are OOP

I think the 3D double feature of Spy Kids 3D Game-Over and The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl is OOP

I see it going for over $100 on eBay and Amazon

It's a great series, and I was very sad to see it go.

Yeah, I've been wanting to get this one on BD, but NOT the inferior Mill Creek release. Worse transfer, worse sound. No thank you. Let's hope for a 4K reissue from Sony. I voted for it on the latest poll.

As someone posted earlier, this release is available and is region free.

All the accusations about Haim being raped on the set of Lucas came out after he was already dead - from third parties who don't seem very reliable (& one is now also dead). The claim that Charlie Sheen raped Haim, and that they had a longer affair when Haim was in his 20's only seems from googling to have been reported in the National Enquirer, and based on claims of someone who seemed unreliable. Charlie Sheen has a reputation for many crazy things, but chasing after young boys has never been one of them.

It's always possible that somebody will license it, but I can tell you that it didn't sell many copies when it was in print, and then it went out of print and you could still buy it at under MSRP for a year or two, much longer than other Anchor Bay titles, and then the long-rumored rape accusations were given a lot of attention by Corey Feldman, and a whole lot of people rushed to ebay to snatch up any remaining copies, and within a month or two, the market price hit $100, where it still is today. And there are people willing to pay that much for it. So I don't think I'm the only one who sees it as the only blu release we're ever gonna get.

I hope you're right, this is one of the few Anchor Bay titles left that I would want but don't have.

it’s probably to do with the show being off the air and not popular enough

but

maybe it’s licensing with IDW? or Max Landis being garbage?

I know people seem to rate the US disc higher (uncut by a few seconds, compression), but the UK disc from Momentum is similarly OOP.

"Currently Unavailable" on the Criterion site just means they've sold their existing stock, but will eventually print more. It may take a while, due to the pandemic. When a title is OOP their listing will say "Out of Print."
