Might these just be the dual format editions going out of print, with re-issues of the separate Blu-ray and DVDs to come soon?

No, I know all but Nashville are Blu-ray only. I don't know about Nashville.

Well, so that explains the recently announced Paramount slate featuring many of these titles I suppose.

Like others have stated, Id much prefer to grab the Criterion versions of these discs while you can.

Art/packaging and disc supplements are superior with Criterion. Often times PQ/AQ as well.

I'm just mad I failed to get Days of Heaven during the Flash sale.

Yes, originally dual-format, now listed as a 1-disc.

All of these were obviously licensed from Paramount except possibly La Dolce Vita. If it wasn't licensed through Paramount, I wonder why it's going OOP at the same time.

"La Dolce Vita" was licensed from Paramount.

Color me surprised. Glad to have them all; in fact, I think 'Days of Heaven' was part of the first Criterion blu-ray order I ever placed.

Interesting, because the DVD was put out by Koch Lorber.

There was a legal matter years ago where Paramount claimed ownership:

It has to be a coincidence, but interesting that all these Paramount titles go OOP the day before Paramount+ launches...

It seems sudden, indeed, and I miss when Criterion used to notify its members/base a little ahead of time if something was indeed going OOP.

Paramount just announced a consolidation of their marketing/theatrical/home video structure (and loss of some staff) as well... wonder if that has something to do with this!

I just grabbed "Nashville" which for some reason I did not already have... Luckily I have all the rest except for "Don't Look Now"...which I've seen and honestly don't know if I'd want to watch again!

Medium Cool and The Friends of Eddie Coyle are listed as currently unavailable. I wouldn't be surprised if these also go OOP.

Paramount has recently ceased licencing titles to labels and are focusing on releasing their back catalog themselves. This also means they're probably not allowing any more renewals and could be why these Criterion releases went OOP. If I were you, I'd grab War of the Worlds and Parallax View soon. As well as any Paramount titles Shout had put out.

I first saw Harold and Maude a few months ago on CBS All-Access (Paramount+). I would have ordered it in the recent Criterion flash sale had I known it was going OOP. I have all of the others except for La Dolce Vita which I'm not sure I'm interested in.

Criterion never did this consistently. They announced the three biggest waves of StudioCanal licensed titles -- and held a commendable sale on the biggest batch -- but not much other than that. They didn't announce The Third Man or one of the most recent titles to go OOP, The Confession. Recently Shout Factory and Kino have done better than they have with their While Supplies Last sales.

Really wish they would've this time because it's several major films! Fortunately I have all of them but La Dolce Vita and was able to get it for around $23.

Is there a list anywhere in this forum of the Paramount titles licensed to SHOUT/SCREAM?

Actually, Criterion did IIRC, but it was on their comments page on the site. It was not on their listings nor was it there on their email announcements. I remember them commenting on Chungking Express and I think The Man Who Fell to Earth going OOP soon, at the time.

You bet. Glad the scalpers hadn’t gotten them all.
