Default Suggestion

It might be useful if blu-ray titles that have recently gone out of print were so indicated with a temporary color or notation. That would help easily identify recent updates in an ever-growing list of titles. (After 1-3 months the notation could be removed.) Suggestion examples:

Title of Movie *** [Recently OOP]
Title of Movie *** [OOP Feb 2016]

I just bought the double feature from Target today for $15. For anyone having difficulty finding it, you can use the Target website to check if your local store has any available for in-store pick-up:

As well as this double feature:

I mean in one's local used shops. Copycat's one of those sleeper genre films that few people would be looking for compared to say Willow or the Ace Ventura movies which are obvious fan favorites.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to read the last 10-15 pages or so of this thread since that would list the most recent titles? Trying to keep track of what went out of print over the last 3 months while adding new titles each week would be a nightmare to keep track of.

He wants another person to do all the work so he can be lazy. He has no idea what it takes to mantain a thread like this.

That's what I started doing, just reading a few pages back. Grabbed the Ace Ventura films & Splice just by taking 3 mins to read through some old posts.

Did the person who posted the FB update from WB have a screenshot of the direct quote from the studio, as you did?

Gutted about Puppet Master 3, especially since I have the first 2 already

One minute you're thinking "Mmm it's hardly Gone with the Wind, this'll be a fiver soon, I'll get something else", then it's gone and costing £415 through Amazon.

This trend as with The Time Machine and others is very annoying to say the least.
Pulling titles without any warning is nothing new but the number of titles is a scary development.

Yes, all are out of print. However, if you do your due diligence, you can still find used and new copies at FYE. In fact, just this week, I bought the collectors set for under $20 in near mint condition. And, just yesterday on my weekly run, I picked up the triple feature, brand new, in the clearance section for $2.24. So, they are still out there. But, yes, all are OOP.

I think supplies of the Batman Complete TV series Limited Edition with the swag may be running low for those who still want it before prices get too ridiculous. It was a limited edition with 95,000 copies.

And the Twilight Zone Complete Series appears OOP, though the individual seasons remain in print. I have the complete series and honestly it's just the individual seasons in a somewhat flimsy sleeve box, so you're not missing much by not having the complete series box set.

The post saying the OOP status was a system error was from the Warner Archives account. So I'd say that's pretty official.

I just wanted to make sure that there was some proof of the actual Facebook post and not just someone saying they had read said post. That's why I asked if someone posted a screen shot of the FB response by WA/WB as P&P did with his Twitter exchange. I'm not casting aspersions on the person who claimed he read the FB post, I'm just seeking further confirmation.

Well, I went to the Warner Archives Facebook page and saw the post myself. If you have doubts, you can do the same.

Thanks, I'm rarely on FB, but as long as someone else saw the post, I have the confirmation. I appreciate you letting me know.

Strange to have two different stories from the WA, which does not have all that many employees so you wouldn't think there would be much in the way of contradiction. In any case, I picked up the German Blu for TIME MACHINE, which is relatively cheap and will suffice since the transfer is supposedly poor. I also got the Special Effects set based on the rumors that it too is going OOP. More money than I wanted to spend at the moment, but why take a chance?

But The Time Machine is not a Warner Archive title, though, is it? I guess WAC may know what WHV are doing, but I'd rather hear it from the actual division.

On the bright side, this impelled a bunch of us to get a copy. I don't know why I put it off so long.

Big new mainstream releases from the studios are really all you can count on being around a long time and being "$5" someday. Older movies and especially niche titles like Puppet Master 3 are stuff to prioritize, if you want to be sure you get them. That's not always gonna be 100% accurate, but it's a good guideline.

I would bet large sums of money the bigger movies involved here (2001, JFK) will get re-releases in fairly short order.

I don't think Warner will re-release any as digibooks though (that were originally released that way). Anyway for the bigger movies I'll wait for the inevitable UHD BD release. Never any reason to panic about missing out on those.
