Something like JFK being "inevitable" on UHD is a whole lot of faith for that format not only staying around as a niche but blowing up into a big deal. I don't have anywhere near that level of faith.

For JFK? UHD release is questionable.

For 2001? It's a near certain inevitability.

Level of UHD catalog output remains to be seen, but I'm much more optimistic about it than I was six months ago. Besides, I'll bet people were skeptical about BD getting some the niche titles that have been getting the last few years. So I don't think it's a stretch to think a movie like JFK will someday be on UHD.

I imagine JFK will return to print once Snowden opens in September. Fox now has the rights (it was a Regency title and Fox already had international rights) and it would make sense for a 25th anniversary edition to arrive.

One minute you're thinking "Mmm it's hardly Gone with the Wind, this'll be a fiver soon, I'll get something else", then it's gone and costing £415 through Amazon.
Can still get it off 88 films website for about £15 shipped if you want it.

US Full Moon release is just as good, though.

The Stone triple-movie Blu with "JFK" included is indeed discontinued. When a studio loses the rights to a film, they pretty much have to discontinue all variants.

Wow. I knew my Lost: Complete Collection, The Lion King, and The Monster Squad Blu-ray's were rare. I didn't expect my Ace Ventura Double Feature and Willow to become so valuable.

I don't expect the Ace Ventura movies to remain OOP for very long.

It's fetching $tupid amounts right now. I should have picked up a copy when I had a chance.

Assuming the format lasts then yes, I would imagine 2001 would be a common sense catalog release for it. We have no idea if the format will last yet though, it could be another Super VHS or Betamax for all we know. Also meant JFK anyway.
