Did you watch and enjoy 'Inglorious Bastards'? If you could see past the violence in IB, then you'll be able to see past the violence in 'Drive' and enjoy it as well.

And, your statement about stylistic violence and plot is WAY WAY WAY WAY off base. This move is ALL about the plot. It is NOT an action movie, but the action that is there is fantastic. It is NOT a gore-fest, but the gore that is there seems appropriate. And what violence is shown is shown only briefly. The brutal graphic violence is a VERY small portion of the film.

Wow. There is some very interesting trivia in that link, very cool stories.

Can you imagine if 'Driver' was really Hugh Jackman?! I have a feeling I wouldn't nearly have enjoyed the film as much. There is no way I can see Jackman producing the way that Gosling did for the role.

I am experimenting a bit with this blu ray box and cover art. I'll post pics when I am done. I am really excited about doing this, specifically because I love this film and the cover art blows.

we've probably seen everything the director wanted us to see. There is workprint going around the internet that has some alternate takes/angles as well as temp music, but it isn't anything super interesting from what I understand. It is actually less violent because the post production effects weren't done yet. There were no changes or cuts made to the movie from the time it screened at Cannes and was rated by the MPAA, so no cuts were made for that reason.

Simple/non-cliched script, convincing characters, perfect acting (especially from Gosling and Brooks). It is basically a story of love, hate, and revenge with muscle cars.

So I broke down and went and bought it, even though I said i wouldn't. It really didn;t cost me anything, except the money to get there and back. I bought it from FYE cause I had like $50 in store credit there.

Performances, direction, story, music, cinematography, and a true feeling (at least to me) that this is a film I have never seen before.

It has just about everything I hope for in a new film.

Anyone know if this would come with a slipcover that is basically like the cover art, only glossy or if it doesn't come with one at all? I saw someone post yesterday from Canada that he got his from cdplus.com, but they are out of stock, plus they are more there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

edit- nevermind, can't even ship to the US, lol

Oscar Issac needs his own vehicle. During their scenes he upstages Gosling....imo.

If you are referring to the HMV Exclusive, then it is Region B Locked, as well as from what I understand already pretty rare and hard to get a hold of.

There is a French Steelbook coming out in a week, but that will most likely be Region B Locked as well. Keep in mind as well, that will most likely have forced French subtitles.

Darn it. I guess I am stuck with the basic U.S. release that doesn't even have a slipcover. I'd go for the CA version, but since it's a FS exclusive that means it will cost way too much.

The Fs exclusive isn't the only slip, there's another one.
