I don't even get why they'd go through all the trouble of adding the scorpion to his chest...
It's not like it'll have some profound impact on whether someone will watch this. "Oh man this cover art sucks, I bet the movie is boring... Wait... there's a scorpion on his jacket, this might be pretty good!" If they wanted to show the scorpion, they should've cropped the soundtrack album cover and called it a day. Would've looked a hell of a lot better too. |

I keep coming back to this thread and checking Amazon, hoping that it will change. It seems like a joke. I wonder what Refn would have to say about it.
edit: I asked this previously in the thread but didn't get an answer: how quickly does HMV usually sell out of steelbooks like this one? It's all but confirmed it's B locked so I was planning on getting both and putting the US disc in the steel, burning the US artwork, and using the empty BD case for something else. Just wondering how much time I have to wait on the steel. Last edited by pretzels; 12-21-2011 at 03:00 AM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I quite like it. I think those reviews might have a last-minute change or they'll add a sticker with some crap nonsese. The back cover quote "Brilliant. You can get buzzed just from the fumes coming off this wild thing" sounds like the author is on crack or has just started learning English as his main language and let Google translate it. The scorpion will mean VERY little to most people who've seen it or are tempted by the cover. They may not quite get the connection. Whether this is Sony's over-ambitious local 'art' people or maybe they've just copied/pasted some old production artwork it doesn't really matter. Steelbook for me anyway although I'll print of a hi-res mini poster I think. Images from http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...tem_id=1596363 |

Personally while it was a close race I actually think Penn's performance was a tiny bit better than Rourke's that year. They were my two favorite performances of 2008 so I'm happy either of them won and they both were nominated.

Seriously, one of the MANY posters or the soundtrack cover would've made for the greatest cover ever made, for one of the greatest films ever made. Put one of us on the job, or Criterion, and we could have ourselves real collectors item. ----- I've been meaning to ask, what type of paper and printer would one need to print some of the custom covers that people were posting here a few pages back? I'm really thinking about doing that. This film deserves better. |

Don't care for the cover art but i'm still buying this movie. I loved the flick in theaters and i'm in my late 20s. The last time I bought a soundtrack immediately following the movie was probably like in my early teenager days for some cheesy movie. I had to buy the soundtrack to this movie right after. I'm going to go listen to it right now actually

I just use a regular like Photosmart printer. Some people like to use the regular glossy paper, but for me it's way too glossy, and I find the semigloss matches the OEM covers almost perfectly. I think I got HP semigloss photo paper.

I actually saw the trailer for this for the first time last night. When it was one of the previews infront of Straw Dogs blu ray. After watching the trailer, the hammer makes more senses. When I saw the cover I was like why the hell is he carrying a hammer?
