I agree wholeheartedly with M. Night, Kevin Smith, Wes Anderson, and Bryan Singer.

I hope you realize how much that makes no sense.

uhh....this is just me thinking out loud, but doesn't a different plot equate to a different movie?

How does that even slightly make sense?

I'm in no way a Spike Lee fan. I haven't seen enough of his movies to really like or dislike what he does. But what is a movie without plot?

I agree with a lot (not all) of what the writer said, but I don't think the title is right. It's not that they're overrated, just that they aren't currently living up to past accomplishments. One or two big hits by any of them and they'd be back on top in a heartbeat.

Spike Lee should have been on that list.

Disagree with Tarintino, Anderson, Spielberg, Burton and the Coppolas.

Wes Anderson
Judd Apatow
Tim Burton
The Coppolas
George Lucas
M. Night Shymalan
Bryan Singer
Kevin Smith
Steven Spielberg
Quentin Tarantino

I actually agree with all of them except Wes Anderson and The Coppolas. How can someone who directed Apocalypse Now, The Conversation and The Godfather Trilogy be overrated? Those are all classics!

Wes Anderson movies are generally genius, although I was a little disappointed with Darjeeling. The first four were all brilliant.

M. Night Shymalan is the most overated i say. Tarantino i think has done enough great movies to make up for the couple of bad apples he has done.

Wes Anderson i think you ether love him or hate him. That's just his style of movie making. Why Burton or Spielberg are there i don't know

I think Riddley Scott and Ron Howard should have made the list. Overall this list kind of sucks.

Any way here's how the Sixth Sense should have been

Wow, the moment I saw Kevin Smith on there I knew it was a joke. I also didn't notice Michael Bay on it. So yeah, that's just one persons cracked out opinion.

Kevin Smith is the most "OVERRATED". remember guys it's not "who sucks the most"....which should be clear since Michael Bay isn't on it

I agree that these guys are mostly overrated, but I wouldn't say some of them are top 10 overrated. Spielberg, Coppola and Tarantino have all directed some of the greatest movies in American cinema. I would see how some could say that about Tarantino though, he's not everyone's cup of tea, but Spielberg and Coppola? Maybe lately they haven't wowed, but you gotta take their whole body of work. How can directors with The Godfather Trilogy, Apocolypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, and Schindler's List be overrated?

flat out don't understand: Anderson, the Coppolas (if they said Sophia I could agree), Spielberg, and Tarantino.

Agree with: Apatow (although really, I don't think it's his directing in the traditional sense that has ever been praised, thus calling him over rated is off base from the get go), Lucas (although I haven't heard him getting any respect in a long long long time, and not as director either), Shymalan (hack, but he's been called a hack a lot, so again... what's their point?)

disagree with the rest. I never heard a single human praise Smith for his directing, but he writes his own movies, thus calling them Kevin Smith films and associating them with him is true. I don't know how he could be called over rated either, though.

This list is awful. It's like they tried so hard to be edgy that they named people who aren't even really praised for directing all that much (Lucas, Apatow, Smith).
