Looking around.
Maybe Z9F won't be Cheap. https://www.news.com.au/technology/h...640a6ef8a839a0 This is interesting... Quote:
At big box stores... Many Many customers will decide based on the screens Demo. And what the sales agent say_____ are defining important Features. Master TV's with Master Features has to command a Masters price. Bet there will be Great Demos for the Z9F at the stores. Sony likely will sell a lot of Z9F's to the Mass of new Buyers. Probably many Z9F's major Apps will to 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Atmos. With eARC in place for App Atmos thru HDMI to AVR or the new Atmos Soundbars. That said, I made the "particularly in HDR" qualification because I've been catching up with Daredevil S1 and S2 these last few days. It's on Blu-ray so it's plain old SDR 709 that I've been watching it and it looks so stunning on the ZD9 with all that darkness and that "lemon and lime" colour grading. I've had a cold so my already-poor hearing is even worse at the moment and I had to watch DD with the subtitles, meaning that these white subs were constantly playing out over very dark or even pitch-black scenes and the lack of blooming was just incredible (this is watched in a darkened room with no bias lighting at all), nor did the TV suddenly raise the brightness in response as some dimming systems (frame or edge) and algos can do. It's got so much control over SDR lighting, it's an amazing example of what LCD is capable of. It's not quite so refined in HDR as I said, though I've found that Dolby Vision has helped to alleviate even this problem (the Dolby Display Manager having been said to take into account the actual characteristics of a TV, e.g. its backlighting systems, as well its base specs) with less conspicuous blooming around objects. Could also be the slight raising of the black level that DV seems to have on my ZD9 though, it's nothing like the infamous "LG grey bars" problem but it's definitely there and with a slightly brighter image means that the dimming doesn't have to be so aggressive in dimming down to off. Still looks all kinds of awesome though, a ZD9 on its own is still one of the best HDR TVs out there but ZD9 + DV is an ultra combo. |

That's likely true but I'm not so sure it's in Sony's DNA to produce two separate flagship lines anymore. Seems like they're all in on the high end being OLED right now. |

Another impression from a user over at AVSForums from the Sony event in Leipzig, Germany, mentioned that the Z9F looked like more a successor to the 940E rather than the Z9D. Also mentioning that as a successor to the Z9D in the master series the Z9F was a disappointment. On the other hand, he mentioned the A9F did deserve the master series label. Unfortunately that one caps at 65.

Us Z9D Fans should read this Closely.
Listen to the Song or Tunes carefully. https://www.techradar.com/uk/reviews...a-zf9-kd-65zf9 I think this one is Mantra material. Particularly since no one else has it. Quote:

Sony makes Great LED's
C7 here is good too. But A9F may be a Beast! If the LED is Z9D, above video. If pic mode is Vivid__ then I, myself, would lower the Black Level to 47. Believe me. Black level from 50 decreased to 47 can make a magnificient change. But reduce a click at a time to find perfect for you. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 08-29-2018 at 03:21 AM. Reason: Finishing |

65 A9F @ $5371. On USA shores its likely the 65 Z9F will be much under 5 $Grand. Currently the Z9D can be gotten at many places for under 3 $Grand. |

We'll find out before Long.
Will Z9F be Rtings rated above TV #3 or below TV #3. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-features/hdr #2 LED____ 65inch is $3297. HDR Peak 10% Window*:*1763 cd/mē It seems to me Z9F's price will be competitive with that. LG don't have a competitive LED model. So I would think Z9F will Mass Market against the Samsung Q9 LED. With Sony's A9F gunning after the rest. Sony's IFA 2018 press conference will start at 1pm CEST on 30 August in Berlin. Here are the various local times across the world: UK: 12pm BST US: 7am EST India: 4:30pm IST Japan: 8pm JST China: 7pm CST Russia: 2pm MSK Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 08-30-2018 at 12:27 AM. 0Maybe we all need a good laugh from tense anticipation of Z9F pricing coming out of IFA 2018 in the next few days.
Humor Up... But then at post #536 above we did see... Quote:
A little decrepancy on the US Shore for USA peoples enjoy a higher standard of living than in Malaysia. Or Sony shipping cost to Malaysia is less expensive. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 08-30-2018 at 06:21 AM. |
