No problem. I haven't read it though. The Shaw character has a different last name in it.

Yep, her name was Watts on the original script. And the ship is indeed called Magellan as mentioned on the documentary.

I read few pages and I really like it specially the fact that some things are explained in further details from the beginning. Oh well, I'll keep reading this at home this night.

Is it me or do the discs for this movie have some of the longest loading times out there.
Takes about 60-80 sec to get to the main menu.

Ok, I read this script and while is not perfect, it is way much better (my personal point of view) from the Prometheus movie.

If you are still mad about the crazy/silly stuff in Prometheus, then just stay away of reading the original script.

Jon Spaihts' work was messed up big time here...... Again, my personal opinion.

You can get both the UV & iTunes copies but they use different codes. To get the iTunes code you need to run the program on the disc, select iTunes copy, input the code from the slip included in the BR set & an iTunes code will be generated which you can redeem as you normally would.

There are detailed instructions in this thread somewhere that are very detailed. I used them & it worked fine.

We watched this last night, both of us knowing very little about it. I saw the Alien films as a child and my fiancee had never seen them, so to us this was watching it as a standalone film with no ties. We really, really enjoyed it. Honestly I think I overlooked so many of the glaring plot holes until I came here, now I find myself having more questions.

Still, one of the better movies we've seen recently, and it looked and sounded fantastic to boot.

Sat down and read the entire thing tonight. As a whole I like this script more. You could feel the tension building more as the story progressed in that script. No doubt about it, THAT is an Alien movie. I see where the studio and others maybe thought it was "already done" and possibly too close of an homage to the original. On the other hand, I think Lindelof maybe steered the franchise a little too far from this. Not all of the changes were bad.

[Show spoiler] I still would have liked to have seen the Ultramorph at the end (not just the Deacon)

. I enjoy some of the open ended why questions that we have now, as I think it will set up for an interesting sequel (assuming they don't drop the ball with it). Still, in the end I just felt like that script had better pacing, more tension, and yeah its a hell of a lot scarier.

The disc is not working, XML error?. And when I have iTunes open it doesn't recognize the code.

You aren't the only one. This issue has been brought up several times in this thread as well.

The discs work, but yeah those load times... I am too impatient to sit watching a blank screen. I have put the disc on, go to the can, get something to eat and drink, and the movie is finally ready.

Okay here's the deal for anyone who posted to my initial inquiry regarding the digital copy not redeeming on iTunes. I called up FOX Digital and got the 411. Pretty simple fix even though it is a ridiculous extra step lol.

First of all what you have to do is run the disc when it pops up you click open to view files. Then click the DVDROM folder...from there you then click Media Manager....and in that folder the very last item at the bottom is the Media Manager II application. Launch that and let it load and from there it will prompt you to type in the digital code on the slip you got in the case and once you choose either iTunes or Ultraviolet it will then generate a new code for you lol.

Again like I said and easy fix but odd that you have to use one code just to get another lol ;-P

I think it's clear in the making of, the studio messed up the movie by hiring a name to unnecessary rewrite the film, and Scott got along with it because he wanted it to be made. Lindeloff and the studio destroyed what should have been an Avatar like box office hit.

a movie like this would never be an Avatar type box office hit, the rating limits the audience way too much. Prometheus actually did really well for an R rated movie.
