I know right? How hard would it have been to explain that the 3D mapping signal dropped out during that freak electrical storm? It should have completely cut them off from the others communications wise as well. What a simple fix for that conundrum!

This is just one of many things that took me out of the movie. The script will fail as an assignment in a film school.

I'm not a hater, I'm buying the blu-ray. But sorry guys, I'm not gonna deny that it has issues, they're too obvious to ignore.

Now I'm not fond of the idea of a Blade Runner sequel anymore.
I get what you're saying. No one is right or wrong. I don't think I dissect action movies from things like that. I may feel inclined to do so more in a drama or crime movie.

They're lost well before the storm, they're going back to the ship before anyone else in the team. And he has the map tool in his hands. There are a lot more issues I'm not gonna bother listing them all.

I didn't dissect anything. I noticed all the issues the first time I saw the movie, while I was deep into the movie.

Everybody has their own opinion, I respect that. And I was just stating mine. It's fine if anyone else didn't notice the issues, good for them.

Though I do this with my music CD collection, I don't think I have Blu-rays (or space) to do this! With music I generally go with my mood (genre) since I have thousands to choose from. But when it comes to movies, I know which one I want to watch and can find it easily alphabetically!

Um. Aren't "Prometheus" and "Alien" the same genre?

Thanks for the heads up. I made sure to change my iTunes settings to 1080p...the download file size is now showing 4.7GB.

Scott says its a very "loosely based" prequel.
True but it features a Xenomorph so I believe it's safe to say it exists within the Alien "universe".

Only 4.7 GB for the whole movie in 1080p? Are you sure? That's like the size of a DVD.

As much as I'd love to watch this movie again in 10 days, I can't really bring myself to support this scheming by the studios to try and push downloads over discs. I'm obviously buying the BD either way, so I might as well be patient and save my money.

All I really need is the studio to announce this sucker and I'll be satisfied until 10/11.

Then most if not all scripts for sci-fi movies would fail in film school!!! in all the Alien movies and Prometheus everyone on the ship walks like theres gravity which in reality wouldnt be possible they would be floating in the ship and they sleep for years and then wakes up without any effects which in reality wouldnt be possible.

That why they are called Science-Fiction movies!!!

What? What characters do has nothing to do with it being a science fiction. Running in the path of a falling ship instead of going the other way? That has anything to do with science fiction?

I'm not in the hate camp or love camp. I'm a massive science fiction fan. But I'm not gonna say it's perfect just because I love it.

I'll be honest... I'm more pumped for this release than anything else. NECA is also releasing the figures this month as well. Which would look awesome for anyone getting the UK Boxed set.

Had to put my pre-order of this on the back burner. Too many films on the way I'd rather have first. Dark Star and They Live are top priority for me among a few others, as well as season 2 of Star Trek TNG (if they don't botch the initial release like they did season 1).

I hear ya.

On the other hand, I've purchased Alien on VHS, LaserDisc, SE LaserDisc, DVD, SE DVD, Blu-ray, and iTunes over the last 30 years or so...

Therefore, I'm perfectly fine with purchasing Prometheus on iTunes, DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and CE Blu-ray...and then again in 4K in a few years.
